Now that a4uexpo is over and some of our other projects are nearing an end, we will soon be upgrading and improving affiliates4u.
What we upgrade and how we improve the site will largely be down to you:
What new features do you want to see?
What problems have you experienced using the site?
How do you think we can make things better?
Please leave a message in this community with your thoughts and feedback.

I just discovered this site earlier this week and I have to give you guys a pat on the back.
I really like the site, it has a very clean and user interface. Just try and tie the forums into the rest of the comunity site as much as possible (1 shared profile/control panel etc).
community is great
Would be nice if there was a nice simple and clean mobile type template for those who like to check in on the move.
Somthing like acorndomains.mobi maybe?
Just a minor point but being able to use HTML tables in sector vertical forums would be a big help. I spent ages trying to figure out what was wrong with my code until I spotted it had been disabled for Mobile & Broadband last week.
May have been asked already but can the button to create a new thread be made a bit larger - I always have trouble finding it.
Hi, I can't seem to edit that little tag under my name like on the other board, unless I am missing something. My tagline is about having a broken hand and thats been fixed yonks ago![[smiley]](http://www.affiliates4u.com/system/media/emoticons/smiley.gif)
Thanks
Barry
The custom title tag you are referring to is a vBulletin feature which is no longer editable. We have considered taking this out altogether, using the user thoughts/status instead or perhaps adding a new field which users can set in their profile.
I would be interested to see what people think of these options.
I'd have the custom title tag default to the user thoughts/status unless there is something different set in their profile (a new field you add).
Tie in the forum more tightly to the rest of the Web 2.0 stuff. For example, if I search for a forum member from the link in the forum page, it takes me to their public profile, but then I can't find how that links back to all the posts they made. I think all those options you get when you click their name in the forum should be made available in their profile.
Also the forum has details not present in the public profile - reputation, number of posts, location, etc.
Is there anyway of deleting things from the whiteboard in my profile, I was spammed on it ithe other day and would like to wipe it
Hi Keith,
I am currently working on the new version of affiliates4u and a "Report Spam" feature is included which will allow users to report spam on any page of the site.
Users will also be able to delete messages posted on their own profile.
I have deleted the spam comments posted by "bingbing" and have disabled his profile. If there are any more problems let me know.
Hi Ryan
Is it possible to add search the forum to the search box on the home page. Currently it takes you to a page which lists all but the forum.
Just a little annoyance but mucho appreciated if it can be added to the list.
Thanks
Jason
make communities easier to navigate. perhaps categories / tags or something. one big list is hard to understand & you can't quickly look for things that might be of interest.
a direct link from the front page to New Posts on the forum would be useful.
Hi,
I'll second the request re adding contacts - took me ages to find out how to do it at first lol.
Could you also look into why the female avatar keeps disappearing? I hope this isn't something sexist (jj)!
Kathy
I agree too!
Make it easier to add contacts. The action links are too much hidden away on profile pages. I had a tough time finding the.
Thanks
Not sure if it's been mentioned before but... how about a jargon busting glossary for all the affiliate terms and acronyms flying around this forum? They can make difficult reading for the newbie.
a4u wiki should help you out there
Hi,
I would welcome a glossary too. Whilst the a4u wiki is good in theory, not much has been added to yet and I don't feel qualified enough in most subjects to add anything myself neither. I would imagine that it is of most use to newbies like myself and that those who are no longer newbies, never look at it. A bit of chicken and egg scenario...
Kathy
Link to donate to this forum. Some of us would like to show appreciation once in a while
Couldn't find this community earlier so posted this somewhere else first.
I'd like to see a widget similar to Bumpzee / MyBlogLog which shows which forum members have visited peoples blogs, it would have the added effect of a link back to Affiliates4u![[smiley]](../../../media/emoticons/smiley.gif)
Great idea Keith
Ryan can we get this done? ![[wink]](http://www.affiliates4u.com/system/media/emoticons/wink.gif)
I'd need to look into how this would actually work but I don't see it being a problem.
Feeds, Feeds and Feeds. I would love to see these babies better organised.
Awhile ago I was trying to subscribe to a few specific forums, affiliate events and PPC. I was unable to as each forum did not have it's own feed.
Can we also have a feed for blogs?
We have had some feedback already about subscribing to content throughout the site. It sounds like a good idea and should not be overly complicated to integrate into the existing code.
And yes - better organisation is another thing on the list, not just for the feeds but all parts of the site.
A4U Online Chat
This would have to be looked into carefully as chat can put a large load on the database that drives it and our database is already handling a large load with the rest of the site. Database optimisations are going to be a big part of the upgrade so chat may be possible.
oh, and fix the bug with the post duplication in the communities please...
This is already on our list and will be thoroughly investigated.
when I click on "blogs" at the navigation bar, I don't necessarily want to see affiliate blogs by default. Personally, I would like to have another 5th option "all blogs" as at a glance I can see what has been uploaded
thanks
The blogs section was updated last week so that it now shows all blogs by default with the option to select specific blog types from the secondary menu. To return to all blogs simply click on the blogs link from the main menu and you will be taken back to the blogs home page. I have also added a heading at the top of the page so that you know which blogs you are looking at.
Ryan, can we add a subscribe to tag option / explanation at the top of this page http://www.affiliates4u.com/feeds/ linking to http://www.affiliates4u.com/feeds/tag_cloud.php
On the "blogs" page if I click on a blog title that I want to read in full I am first of all taken to another page where I can see the first few lines of text for the blog. I then have to make another click to "read the full story".
So my feedback would be to put the "read the full story" link on the "blogs" page and cut out an unecessary click for your users.
big must for me would be increase PM storage size..
i for one send a lot of pm's and sometimes i need to keep track of who ive sent what too but when the limit is 50 ( combined in and sent ) i delete some that i need to keep
only a small change that would make a lot of difference
Hi, I have increased storage size for all members to 75 messages, this should help you with your PM management![[smiley]](http://www.affiliates4u.com/system/media/emoticons/smiley.gif)
cheers matthew![[smiley]](http://www.affiliates4u.com/system/media/emoticons/smiley.gif)

and as hero says.. the post duplication does need sorting as well.. apart from that no other problems from my pov
Please, please, please could you sort out the filters problem for the communities search. If the UK All Regions filter is used, the filter works to narrow the search until the next page is requested when the search defaults to the the basic search again with no filters. I.e. a search filtered down to say four pages then defaults back to 18 pages requiring the filters to be re-entered each time.
Could we also have a filtered search for blogs too please?
Otherwise an excellent site - keep up the good work!
Kathy
Improved searching and filtering is one of the features at the top of my list Kathy! I learned quite a bit from some of the sessions I was looking after at a4uexpo and search is definitely something which affiliates4u needs in spades.
Thanks Ryan - it will be much appreciated!
Another enhancement I would love to see is a log of my recent activity, especially which communities I've recently posted in. Being at that certain age and because I browse a lot of the communities I sometimes forget where I've been before so that I can look for responses!
Kathy
Hi everone, I only joined a4u last month but, one thing I have noticed is that I get identical email notifications for some postings. The only difference being the id of the msg. Not the end of the world just a little annoying. Overall I think this is a great site, well thought out with an intuitive interface.
Rob
This is an ongoing problem we have due to some browsers submitting forms twice resulting in duplicate posts in the communities, events, blogs, news and profiles. We will be taking a very close look at the roots of this problem and the way our forms are coded during the upgrade process.
As a merchant, I want to make sure I see everything that anyone posts about our programme, and about our competitors. I log in at least once a day, but would love it if there was a feature similar to Google Alerts, where I could put in the keywords I was interested in and have an email sent to me whenever anything relevant was posted.
Thanks!

I like the idea and development-wise it should not require a lot of additional coding![[wink]](http://www.affiliates4u.com/system/media/emoticons/wink.gif)
Thanks Ryan, be honest and frank guys - we've not had the development window to do many non urgent tweaks - so this is your opportunity to have your say to make affiliates4u an even better resource.
