Has anyone bought Unreal Tournament 3 yet? I got it last week and it is excellent. Due to converting to a MacBook Pro earlier this year I had to install Windows XP on it so I could play UT3.

It plays great with full detail and physics at 1440x900 pixels and a frame rate of 30fps on average despite a warning saying my hardware is less than the minimum spec (this must be an error because it has an ATI Radeon X1600 256MB graphics card, a 2.33Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 2GB of RAM.

I must say - all of you who claim that you shouldn't get a Mac as you won't be able to play the latest and greatest games are wrong. My MacBook Pro is nearly 1 year old now and plays UT3 brilliantly. I can't wait for the Mac version in 2008 which will make full use of the graphics hardware and will perform even better.

The graphics in the game are amazing and very photorealistic (obviously the better your graphics hardware the more photorealistic it will look). The maps, textures and character models are so detailed you sometimes forget you are playing a game (well, except when a rocket comes out of nowhere knocking you off your hoverboard!). The voices have been improved and there are some interesting AI comments which pop up every now and then.

There are some new and different gameplay modes including warfare and vehicle capture the flag. There are new vehicles for the Necris race and a whole host of new maps. Weapons are a familiar rehash of old and new. We see the taridium blaster return as well as the translocator and the enforcer. A new addition is the hoverboard which makes traversing some of the larger maps much easier.

I'll stop blabbering on for now, all I can say is if you're not got it yet, I highly recommend it!

Been playing John Woo's Stranglehold on the xbox360. Now thats a brilliant game! Although the graphics need a bit of work the destructable environments, adrenaline pumping shooting action and slick moves are sick!

I keep on ranting about this game to everyone I talk to but very few get it....hopefully you guys will.

PS: Watch out for Kane and Lynch coming out in November.

I'm looking to get my cousin-in-law a game for her 12th birthday tomorrow and I am need of some suggestions. The type of game I am looking for is one where you have to go around solving puzzles, finding things etc... is that classed as an adventure game?

The first game which came to mind fitting that description was Myst and it's sequels. But I think something more aimed at kids would go down better - any ideas?

Half life 2 is an awsome game, if a little short lived, and if you can get loads of clean underwear (justhom.com have loads) then F.E.A.R. is brilliant and very scary.

I dug out age of empires 2 the other day and spent 4 hours on a multiplayer with some mates via the net, totally crap graphics but what a stress reliever.

    Hi People!
I like to spend my time on RPG games with Adventure themes like Tomb Raiders, Resident Evils and Prince of Persia.

Any good adventure rpg games to recommend?

UT 2004 is great for a bit of stress relief. Sim City 4 is also one of my favourites. I'm absolutely gutted that Spore has been held back for so long - hopefully all the extra time the developers have will ensure it doesn't disappoint!
