Hello all. I have a website www.sunnyfuerteventura.com. I don't think I make the most of my website commercially has anyone any suggestions?
i am looking for help in marketing a product my wife and I invented called the itsa. I have heard about affiliate marketing but i am afraid i am a dinersaur when it comes to technology. I joined this site to hopefully gain the help and experiance of like minded individuals who wish to improve the sales of their on line shops and individuals who like the idea of making money. we are a SME that has a tight budget and scarred that we waste our money on the wrong programe, is there anyone who can advise us to try any particuler marketing company or do you think it would be beneficial to employ our own specialist? I look forward to hearing from you

Wow! The community has grown. Travel is a 7 trillion dollar a year business. The business world is starting to realize this. Even in this american recession you can be very sucessful in this area. I have created a few (unsuccesful) websites with affiliate links in the past and I am now trying my hand at being a merchant.
I decided to live in the caribbean last september and wanted open-return tickets which seemed to be impossible. In the end I had to get one-way tickets here but they were considerably more than half the return fare.
I looked at a number of search sites looking for the cheapest tickets and they all wanted to know what day and time I wanted to go (which I didn't particularly care about) so I had to try multiple combinations on multiple sites (the variation in prices was amazing) and it took a long time.
Does anyone know a site where you can just give it a starting point and destination and search for the cheapest deal within a selectable time period. I'm sure it would save a lot of web traffic and a lot of time for a lot of people.

Had a look at your site and its not bad as a whole. I think you need to look more closely at your individual hotels pages (the ones organized by districts). Try not to have long menus on each page especially if those pages don't have much content. You want to have a greater percentage of unique content on these pages. Also I think you have copied your hotel descriptions and it looks like you have written some of your posts yourself. Hi everyone, I'm Gerry from www.like2stay.co.uk and am a newbie here and as an affiliate, like a new boy at school it would be nice to hear from people and have help with my way around. I have had the like2stay website for a couple of years but have only just considered doing affiliate links.
I only handle UK Holiday Camps and have joined my first affiliate today with with Warners (thanks to Kevin Sutton from DGM who was extremely helpful) but I am also awaiting answers from Haven Holidays and Pontins. I wouldn't mind teaming up with similar websites that only deal with UK Guest Houses or Hotels as we could compliment each other.

Had some problems with low conversion rates using the hostelbookers.com programme.
The main problem was that quotes for our major UK destination Newquay were in EUROS. Many young people visit Newquay each year and the cheaper accommodation available on www.hostelbookers.com would be ideal for them, however, most of them are from the UK and just wouldnt want to pay in EUROS. This led to zero conversions over 3 months.
We have now moved to hostelworld.com and are successfully making bookings. However, Hostelbookers have a better product range so I would go back if they were to extend the availability of currencies.
I beleive that it is important to choose affiliate programmes in travel that let the users book in their preferred currency or at least the currency of the destination. Ideally, the minimum available currencies should be GBP, EUR, USD, AUD.

I knew most of the people there, but also made some valuable new contacts.
