Brian Littleton (SAS CEO) Has posted on his SAS blog a warning to any paid search affiliate breaking their merchant’s ppc Terms and conditions, “Three strikes you are out rule” I guess we can all share in that feeling of, time and resources in having to police affiliates. We have to acknowledge that this is a good step forward, how ever we would have been even more excited by a “one strike you are out policy”. “I did not know…” really is wearing thin here in the UK. Of course the flip side and a universal affiliate concern is that with a lot of merchants within a lot (not all) of affiliate networks there are no terms and conditions or the ones they have in place can be a little ambiguous at best.
Perhaps this signals there is a real need and desire...
