HP has put together an interesting study titled “Rhythms of Social Interaction: Messaging Within A massive Online Network.”
HP analyzed the messaging rate of 4.2 million college students over a 26 month interval to come up with the interesting 16 page report.
The most interesting part? Students use Facebook the most during evening hours when they are at their computers doing homework. They use Facebook the least during the weekends and the summer months during vacation time. I would venture to say the same is true for those of us who are employed to work in front of a computer all day. Marketers should take notice.
