001 is what you dial to call the US from the UK
Its 00 + Country code (the US being 1)
In the US you dial 011 instead of our 00 and then the country code so 011 44 for the UK
Id always quote on a site +44-your number though on the assumption that people know the number they need for an international call in their own country.
