I almost posted this yesterday as a good example why you shouldn't just rely on free traffic from one source and also why you should save for that rainy day. They say

SEO company shouldn't have that high costs as its a skill based industry, so refunding 3 months of income shouldn't really be catastrophic, espcially if its paying out on a guarantee they have been offering - rather than a totally unforeseable bill for the same amount.
In any case SALSA was quite spammy, I seem to recall it was lots of doorway pages on different domains, so its not that surprising that Google has kept an eye on them Even though they say their new tactics were inline with Googles guidelines, paying well rated sites to include their directory of search terms is going to get classed as gaming the system.
