In an effort to keep sale leakage to a minimum we have previously removed the phone number in the header of the site for all affiliate traffic.

As of today (in an hour or so) we will be showing the phone number with a unique reference for each affiliate which our call centre staff will ask for and will be recorded against all sales taken over the phone and allowing us to credit affiliates for sales made.

I will initially credit phone sales to affiliate accounts on a monthly basis with validations, but if volume increases we will aim to do this more frequently.

Sales will be tracked via the in house system and Affiliate Window, Affiliate Future are just making some minor changes to enable this and we are working with Trade Doubler to implement this shortly.

I have been listening on sales calls generally and the majority are asking when the deposit needs to be paid, how much it is, when the full balance needs to be paid, if the price is the total price, when will they receive their accommodation voucher etc – all calls that just need reassurance to make the booking, the call centre do not attempt to take these sales calls offline but just guide the user through the booking process.
