I'm loving Affjet now that Affmeter hasn't been working for many months. However, I'm having problems setting up Adsense - it just gives me the message "Checking your credentials, please wait" and never succesfully validates. I've double checked my settings and they are correct.

    Anybody else experiencing this issue?

    HI wilko1972,

The problem you mention is really simple, the validate function is trying to find out if your credentials are right. But Adsense requires so many time to log in (is the one which take longer), and the function times out sometimes. If you didn't get a message telling you that your credentials are wrong, your credentials could be ok. Anyway you will know if they are ok at midnight where we will send you an email asking you for the right credentials or importing your data.

On monday we will have a look trying to improve it , thank you for pointing it out.

    Hi everyone,

Recently we have updated our import for Affiliate Window and Google Adsense.

Affiliate Window is moving to its new interface in Darwin, that's why we may have had problems recently, if you are using your ID to log in, please change it to your log in email if you want to get your statistics as this is one of the main changes.

Also Google Adsense is moving to its version 3, this change doesn't need further action, and our import is already using it .

We have fixed a couple of problems regarding the credentials checker and the data base version. It should login faster now and if we are not able to determinate if your credentials are right or wrong a blue message should appear.

I would like to encourage you to ask us if you have any problem getting your statistics, as it could be a problem really easy to fix. All the networks are working and retrieving your statistics, if you think that it's not please let us know.

    Thank you for your time,

You may have noticed that we have changed the filters on the Overview and Transaction report, so now it will be even easier to filter your data.

To use it we have only to click the "Add Filter" button and select the values we want to filter, they will be added automatically to the "Selected Filters" tab, once you finish you
only have to press "Go". One new feature is that the filters can communicate to each other, for example if I want to filter a merchant from Affiliate Window, I could select first my Affiliate Window Network on the "Affiliate Filter", and when I press the "Merchant Filter" to select the merchant I want it will only appear the Affiliate Window ones. This is the way they work , if you have any question please let us know.

Also we have added new fields to the Transaction report, for each transaction you will be able to see the Ip of the buyer, the Click Date and the Custom Id (clickref, reference...), this last one have been added also as a filters and you could even group by it. For example you could group by "clickref" all the transactions from the merchant we selected in the last example.

Thank you for your time, and if you have any idea please let us know!.

    Hi everyone,

Long time we don't post any news, not because we don't have much to say but we have been working really hard improving AffJet and designing strategies for the immediate-future.

We have been working on guides to improve the user experience, our team has been trying to identify how we could make the interface more user-friendly as it is one of our priorities, nobody wants a Ferrari that it's impossible to drive.

Also we are glad to announce that AffJet got a new office in the sunny Spain, located in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), we will post some pictures on the blog soon!.

Finally we are going to prioritise all the different tasks we have to carry for the next months, if you have a request, please drop it here and we will take it into account.

    Thank you.

Today is a special day in AffJet, we have finally added some networks we wanted to add long ago and we simply couldn't find time. These new networks have not been fully tested yet and we will need some feedback from you to complete them properly but we are confident that it will only be some little adjustments.

    M4N
This network has been acquired not long ago by Zanox.M4N was founded in 1999, and they have 50 employees, as well as approximately 450 advertisers and 2700 publishers in the network. In 2010, M4N generated revenues of 17.9m Euro.

    Ebay Partner Network

Founded in 1995, eBay connects a diverse and passionate community of individual buyers and sellers, as well as small businesses. eBay is the world's largest online marketplace with over 95 million active users worldwide. Their collective impact on e-commerce is staggering: In 2010, the total worth of goods sold on eBay was $62 billion -- more than $2,000 every second.

    Amazon associates
Amazon derives about 40 percent of its sales from affiliate marketing called "Amazon Associates" and third-party sellers who sell products on Amazon. Associates receive a commission for referring customers to Amazon by placing links on their websites to Amazon, if the referral results in a sale. Worldwide, Amazon has "over 900,000 members" in its affiliate programs. Amazon reported over 1.3 million sellers sold products through Amazon's World Wide Web sites in 2007.

We are on fire! We have just added another set of the most famous Affiliate Networks. We are proud to announce that a new functionality has been added to AffJet. We call it AffJet Docs, AffJet Docs is the solution for a common problem that has being chasing us for a long time. Where is the contract for this merchant/network?, Who has it?, How can I access the last commission agreement?. We have solved this problem integrating AffJet with your Google Docs account through its API.

There is more info in this post.

    Feedback is appreciated,

    Thank you

Not long ago, hobbsy, sent us a question just before the forum had problems, here is his questions:

"Hi there, would the guys behind Affjet consider making a desktop tool for Macs (maybe using your own PHP-OARA project)?

I'm looking for a desktop replacement for Affmeter (and mainly use Macs these days). I'd be happy to pay £xxx"

This question made me think about why potential customers would like a desktop app rather than a web-based, so here are my thoughts and I would love people to discuss them with me if possible:

At the beginning of this project we thought about the differences between a web-based or a desktop platform. The main problem with a desktop platform is that we can't guarantee the correct functionality of the system as each computer, OS, driver and plug-in could make it crash. Also as you may know the Affiliate Networks change really often so we should be updating the application each two weeks at least, not having time to test it properly and finally having an application that would work only by chance because proper tests wouldn't been carried. In my opinion, this is the problem that Affmeter and desktop application have.

Also all the data is stored in local giving you a feeling of security, but your computer is the one who is doing all the work making the request and storing it on your hard-drive. You would say that this is not a problem, even you may prefer this, but If you install a patch for a desktop program and someone has changed the code or it has not been tested properly, you may end up sending your credentials to someone else or damaging your computer, so is not so secure as you may think.

However, I am not saying that an app web-based is the only way. You also have some problems with browsers, styles, versions and OS , people may not think that is fully secure (but there is no system fully secure), but I think is secure enough to store your Affiliate Networks credentials and your statistics, our CatN servers have been tested and we have even applied to become part of the G-cloud (to host government applications) so we are really concerned about security.

Finally there is also another "side-down ?", our servers are the ones who make the request to your Affiliates Networks so we have to include it on the pricing, also we are storing the data in our data bases so it's available whenever you need.

I won't post about the benefits of being web-based as most of you know already what they are, for us the best one is been able to fix your problems quickly and update the code in seconds.

After all this I would thank hobbsy for his interest in a desktop application of AffJet but we don't think is a good option right now. Feel free to discuss with me!

ps: We are re-designing AffJet right now, in about 1 month we will go live!

Hi all - As a post-affmeter customer I've spent the last few weeks comparing the 2 viable alternatives (in my opinion) which were affjet and staagg

Initially it seemed affjet was the most fully featured, however it didn't offer real-time stats, something which was a fantastic part of affmeter (will miss those little commission pop-ups)

long and short is that i feel affjet takes some time to get to grips with and the other downside being the non-real time stats

my vote goes to staagg - in the last 7 days they've turned it around and made changes to their system to bring everything that affmeter had - the only thing i'm missing is those desktop alerts but i can live with that. In addition staagg have a mobile optimised site which makes checking on the go easy and in fact is a bonus over affmeter

i'll certainly keep tabs on affjet's developments but right now staagg does it for me

    Hi d33man,

We don't support real-time stats at the moment but once we launch we will update the data 3 times per day, also most of the networks only update once per day so it won't make a big difference.

You are right about AffJet, it takes a bit to use all its potential, we are changing the interface to make it much simpler and in about 3 weeks it will be done.

I think that the difference with Staagg is the data and the flexibility we provide, as we develop AffJet to be an Analysis tool and not only show the number of transactions and commission.

Thanks for your comments and we will try to convince you in the future!

We've been working really hard over the last few months redesigning AffJet , and we are really excited to let you know that the new version is now live!

We have addressed a lot of UI issues from the last version, and it is now really simple and quick to access your affiliate data. We are still continually adding new networks and adding new features, but we are now out of beta mode.

Some of the main changes include:
    * Simple, Editable Reports - Create reports, edit filters and view your data in a graph, pie chart or lists. Then share these reports with people in your team.

    * At a Glance - See how your account is performing at a glance in the dashboard, displayed beautifully you can see where you need to focus your energy.

    * User Management - Simple user permissions mean that you can give as much or as little access as you want to people in your group.

    * 30 Day Free Trial - Now that we are out of beta mode we are charging for AffJet. The pricing bands are based on how many transactions you import, but to see how good it is, we will give you 30 days to test AffJet for yourself.

Just checking out the layers that you have to offer, seems like a very useful tool.

Is there any Help anywhere? I appear to have lost my previous reports & the daily emails that I used to get have stopped coming.

I'm trying set up a report that I used to have from Affmeter that listed my totals for a time period i.e. last calendar month (1-31 Mar), with totals per Network/Merchant. With Affjet, I can only group by Network or Merchant not both. If I list figures by Merchant, I can't see what network they're with. The settings i.e. the fields that you can display change depending on whether you view by Network, Merchant or Transaction - why?

When I export to a csv file & open in Excel, I just get a load figures with commas i.e. they are not in individual cells.

This product may be useful but at the moment I don't get what I used to with Affmeter & I'm not prepared to pay a monthly sum for it.

Hopefully I can do what I want to, but I can't find any Help.
