I think it is a fairly big investment. Once you build up a sizeable list of networks supported you end up with a fairly big maintenance job in order to account for any changes the networks make. A lot of networks don't provide any formal API to grab data so you have to essentially screen scrape to get what you need, meaning that any format changes by networks may break your importer.

If you go with a desktop app you don't need servers but it becomes even harder to keep your networks up to date and your users software on the lastest version. If you go the online route you can do a lot more a lot easier but you then need to factor in server costs.

I don't think it is to hard to get something started with the major networks, to make something user friendly where users get exactly the insights they need across a large network list is a larger proposition.

Yes me too, their servers are hacked. Search on google and most their links go to russian porn sites: export data affmeter - Google Search

I did manage to get on the site by typing the URL directly and also noticed the buy button is still up. Not good at all

Anyway I was after a way of exporting the data into excel. Seems I can't get this info from their site does anyone know? Would be a shame to lose a few years worth of aggregated stats

If the servers got hacked then loosing your data is least of your worries. I would suggest everyone changes their network UserId passwords just in case they were compromised.

Hi d33man,

Please click right on your mouse while your cursor is on the data that you want to export, then you can export your data into excel.

Affmeter hosting got hacked thats true. That is why the "buy now" button was working again. Now we are sorting out all the issues regarding the hosting.

I want to clear one point in your mind: Affmeter is/was a desktop application which means that both the data and the software are stored into your computer not a third party web server. Therefore, when Affmeter site got hacked only the web content that we published over there has broken but nothing else.

That is the reason why we built up Affmeter as a Desktop Application not as Web based application. Nothing can harm your data, passwords. Only problems in your own computer can cause problems. That is why so many people comfortably used Affmeter for so many years.

Hi James,

Unfortunately for redevelopment efforts we have to pause Affmeter for 6-12 months. You can always access to Affmeter but many network connections of the Affmeter would not properly work. Please check out the "Third party Applications" section in A4u to search for alternatives.
