This is our first newsletter which I hope will have beneficial results for both parties.

In this newsletter I will cover the background to eDirectory, our merchant partners and some ideas on increasing sales including increased commission rates on three of our best selling products.

I will also be giving instructions on how to deep link within the site.

July has been a very busy period for us, last week was our busiest week (excluding the four Christmas weeks) since records began. So much for the hot weather affecting sales!!

Background to eDirectory

If I start by giving a brief history and outline to who we are and what we do.

eDirectory.co.uk started trading on the internet in 1997 after putting the products from its nationally selling magazine "The Software Directory" online for customers to buy. During the following years it made websites for small and medium sized business concentrating mainly on selling products. The next logical step was to create a one stop shopping basket.

eDirectory now has 1000's of products from 100's of merchant partners, customers can buy anything from Football boots to Sun Tan lotion from Treadmills to Air Hockey tables and check out using one centralised shopping basket. Once an order has been placed the merchant partner is automatically notified of the order and the goods are shipped directly from the merchant partner.

eDirectory provides a white label shopping solution for companies such as The Sun (Britain's biggest selling newspaper), American Express, Handbag.com and Exchange and Mart to name a few.

eDirectory's merchant partners include companies such as Firebox.com, ghd Hair, Voodoo Shoes and 24/7 Electrical as well as nearly 400 others.

eDirectory's product range covers such brands as Adidas, Barbour, DKNY through to Toshiba and Wonderbra.

eDirectory has over 2000 sub-categories ranging from Toys and Games to Equestrian and everything in-between.

eDirectory is a Hit Wise Top 10 website above such household names as Debenhams, Littlewoods, Woolworths, and more.

eDirectory's offices are based in Barrow in Furness, on the edge of the Lake District where views of the Mountains and the Sea can be seen from most workstations!!. The company employs around 35 members of staff, including Technical (all software is developed in-house), Customer Services, Database admin and a Telesales team recruiting new merchants.
