Ignore that £5 commission, they've amended it to £10 per booking.
Virgin Atlantic is the second largest long haul airline in the UK and the third largest European carrier over the North Atlantic. Our route network has grown rapidly to include destinations in the US, Caribbean, Far East, India and Africa, and we have virtually won every award the industry has to offer.
Virgin Atlantic will pay £5 for every flight booking. This payment will be reviewed following a test period, and those sites which are successful will be retained on a higher commission level.

hold on - surely merchants don't raise commissions! We've seen argos and JL, lower them - its a breath of fresh air that a merchant raises them (and so shortly after starting).

Well done guys another member of the Star Alliance like Singapore jobbies , nice to see them all taking an interest into what each other are doing - maybe there might be more in the offing if they are recommending it amongst themselves
Might be worth building a flights site soon with those kind of comms.
Nice one

Hi,
Virgin are the only airline that truely look after Travel Agents that help push business Virgins way.
Virgin look after the smaller agents as well, and dont set them impossible targets. Therefore I believe them when they say they will increase commissions later if its successful.
Best Regards
Baz
Congrats Peter - I've practically forgiven them for my broadband fiasco - so I'll be having a look at it - they look after kids on their flights - gave Oliver a gift pack from first class when we flew with them a while ago and I still wear their inflight socks in bed.

I was talking from a personal viewpoint![]()
Pete,
I've seen they've changed this now to 1%. So far, this programme has been disappointing, which is a shame, because Virgin is a very strong brand. Conversion around 0.3% for the year - compared to 3%+ with the likes of KLM, Flybe, and dare I say it even BA! Not convinced about their pricing offer (see post about Vegas), or are there other reasons why this isn't doing so well. It would be really good to have this working better, especially with most travel sites starting to focus on long haul, and the opening up of new routes to Australia (Dec) and the Caribbean next year.
Steve, there are thousands of other travel sites out there - I have my niche, and they have theirs! James
Hi James,
We should have a chat in the next few days as the stats your seeing aren't representative whats happening on the programme. The conversion rate is far higher.
As with all travel merchants/travel agents people providing volume are rewarded with targets and rewards.
I will have a look into the pricing, but BA and Virgin seem to spend all their time beating each other on prices.
Cheers
Pete
