    What Qualifies as a 'lead'?
    A lead is a genuine application for a phone from a UK Resident of Nonfradulent nature.

    Definitions;
    : GENUINE means a form that is fully completed with the following VALID details;
    UK Bank Account
    UK Credit Card
    UK Current Address
    UK Previous Address (only if Current is less than 3 years)
    UK Landline Telephone Number
    Name and Surname
    Email Address
    Date of Birth (Applicant must be over 18)
    UK Employers Details (unless student / retired / house person)

    We will reverse your lead status if;
    1) We try to contact the customer and they are unavailable (ie; false phone number and or email address)
    2) We contact the customer and they inform us they don't want the handset
    3) We try to authorise the Customers credit card and it is declined and they fail to provide new VALID details

    As I said in all of my previous posts I am willing to discuss anything you Affiliates have on your minds (either by Telephone or Email), I am
    here to help you and I would appreciate it if you guys helped me.

    ALL of your views and opinions are listened to and we are trying to make this programme as easy as possible to work with, so please feel free to post them up here.

    ***** PLEASE READ *****
    A Message from the Managing Director;
    We are trying our best to run this programme on a lead basis, we are still paying out on ALL GENUINE leads on customers that are failing credit checks, if you would prefer we will change this programme and only pay out on a connection only basis please let us know.
    (You Affiliates would loose out but it would clarify this matter some what)

    Many Thanks

    We will reverse your lead status if;
    1) We try to contact the customer and they are unavailable (ie; false phone number and or email address)

    Can you confirm that when you call you do not reverse if the customer has call barring and you use an exchange to try and contact them? Also if they are at work when you call?

    What we mean by unavailable is a DEAD number (ie one which does not exist). We try to contact the customer on there landline / mobile and work numbers.

    If we cant get hold of them we ring them back till we do. (Unless the numbers they put in there application forms are dead ones)

    From a practical point of view, many customers also use dial-up, and will therefore be online at the point of ordering, and thus the phone will be engaged.

    as i said in the previous reply, we will keep ringing the customer until we get an answer.

    we only ring them to check
    1) they are a real person
    2) there phone number works and is not a dead line

    does this clarify things?

    no, not in our eyes, as we still pay commission on all customers that FAIL credit checks as long as it is a genuine application

    To be fair to Orange Offer they have said they will pay even if someone fails the credit check - so they are paying per lead.

    I personally dont consider their criteria to be unfair - you can't really expect to be paid 38 quid for someone who fills in a form with fraudulent / nonsense information - i.e. Mickey Mouse / Tony Blair etc

    Funny ole thing but Tony Blair has joined my cashback site twice - cant quite believe that they're that short of pennies at No 10
    Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

    If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

    Orange offers site looks like the biggest spam site have ever seen, i have been a mobile phone dealer for years (more than 12 years) and it's either a brave new concept in selling mobile phones online, in which i will say its a stupid bloody idea, given that there is not enough money to pay that much money on failed leads online!!

    Lets put it more into perspective, to offer a really good deal online, merchants run on around £20.00 to £30.00 margin, i know this because i have been there and even have the commission sheets here, they cant get anymore commission than i do.

    Online failed credit check connections far outway the sales, hence it must be a scam.

    If its not then i wish them the best of luck int he world and free therapy if they wish, but as i operate more than 20 mobile phone sites on the we for my customers i think my stats will outway any that they might offer (more than 1 million hits a week combines)

    Anyone seen a cheque from them yet?

    Yes their account is full credited along with all our merchants.

    OO have been working hard on their site thanks to the effort of the affiliates. Affiliates will judge the site on how well it converts along with the commission. The guys that have helped are reaping the rewards. Comments like that don't help merchants and damage the integrity of this forum.

    merchants run on around £20.00 to £30.00 margin
    I would have to disagree with you there.

    Its the ability to share truth that makes a forum, i have an opinion that is based as a mobile phone dealer (12 years). My opinion is also based as a company director for mobile phone companies and also based on the fact that i now operate more than 20 mobile phone stores online. My opinion is further backed up by the fact that the mathematics on the data i have shows that this cant possibly be a long term sustained marketing activity in any way.

    Please dont get me wrong, i would love an independant retailer to kick some network in the bud when it comes to online marketing but given the past history of mobile phone dealers in this country how can this input from me be deemed as "not helpful".

    You have a client to look after, that is fine, but this forum is not about pr for affiliate window, its about the sharing of thoughts.

    It was offered as advice for people to listen to or to not listen to as they see fit. However i think there is as many phone dealers with the same opinion as there are affiliate managers with a different opinion.

    In reference to comment about commission

    If you offer good quality top handsets that get sales like most of the major online mobile phone dealers then the margin is around £20.00 - £30.00 a box. Sure commissions are much higher on budget handsets with larger talkplans but i am yet to see any real sales in this area online.

    If you would like i can send you both Orange direct dealer commisssions and distributor based dealers commissions if you like with clear examples,

    The £20.00 - £30.00 model stays

    Hi Price That,

    I am a little confused as to what your point is...

    Are you saying that because you havn't seen a deal like this before..... that it must be a scam...

    Orange offers appear to be on the top side of the mobile phone industry and are generating high levels of leads by offering a good commission to affiliates....

    Either i am missing your point, or perhaps you think they should pay less commissions??????
