Yes! It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for - it’s the Mobileshop newsletter! This month your excitement is rightly justified, as we’ve got some cracking deals, and things are really ramping up in the run up to the manic months before (whisper it) Christmas. As well as all the usual great deals on Orange and Vodafone, Mobileshop are leading the market with the deals on O2 and T-Mobile this month!

The brand new W550i has just gone live on the site, headline offer for me is on O2 200 with 6 months half price line rental. http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...PNEWO2W5500003
It's like a cut down version of the W800i, and could be very popular.

12 Month Free Line Rental Madness - Mobileshop have gone mad and now offer more 12 Months FREE Line Rental deals.

T-Mobile Nokia 6230i and the T-Mobile Motorola V3 - Two really popular phones, now 12 months free line rental on an 18 month contract with T-Mobile. Taking it a step further is the Nokia 3120 with 18 months free line rental on T-Mobile, or with 12 months free on a 12 month O2 contract.

O2 Nokia 6030 – 100% free for 12 months with 200 peak Xnet minutes and 100 texts per month on a 12-month contract! No Catch! With it’s simple but effective design and full-colour screen, this is likely to be very popular with your customers who like a bargain, and don’t need a phone with bells and whistles on. Will be a good seller at Christmas - get one for Granny!

On 12 months half price line rental your customers can get some of the latest and most popular phones, such as the Motorola E1 ROKR with iTunes support, the 3G Sony Ericsson K608i and the funky Samsung E530.

Affiliates are getting some of the best EPC’s and conversion rates in the Marketplace from Mobileshop at the moment, so get some more links live, and you too can benefit from this high-performing programme! The new standard template looks great, I’m sure you’ll agree, and (with some notable exceptions) the affiliates using the templates based around this are getting the best results.

If you have any questions, please do get in touch either via mobileshop@ro-eye.co.uk or call Gav on 0161 2281228.

Some nice deals there Gav. 6030 on O2 with 12m free should do well. You might want to compare the W550i offers against the competition though.

My EPC for Mobileshop this month has been fantastic - well over £1 per click. 10% higher than Onestop and more than double that from e2save.

Thanks Darren! Glad to know that you're finding the programme to your liking. This just goes to show that the highest commission payments per lead (I'm aware that Mobileshop don't offer the highest in the marketplace) don't always equate to the best earnings for our affiliates. Considerable time and effort go into maximising the efficiency of the site for customers (and therefore affilaites!) and providing them with the best sales propositions.

As part of our efforts to improve the sites usability, we have instigated a customer survey on the Mobileshop and Fonetasticmobile sites. Evidence suggests that customers quite like this sort of thing as it makes them feel valued, and we hope to use the findings to further improve the site.

This survey will be on a pop-up window on the homepage, and is quite short. It will be on the website for around a week depending on the number of responses.

We are dedicated to improving all the programmes that we work on, and we hope this shows our commitment to improving the consumer offering and to ensure that your EPC's with Mobileshop remain the best in the marketplace, and carry on improving!

If you have any questions please get in touch via the usual channels, if you have any feedback, please let me know - feel free to take part in the survey if you like! mobileshop@ro-eye.co.uk

Cheers Darren, based on your feedback, we've now managed to get the W550i down to 12 months half price line rental on O2 200 and above! http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...PNEWO2W5500003

Just a quickie to let you know that the Motorola V220 is running short on stock, as a result it's now down to 10 months free line rental. I'd suggest you promote the Nokia 6030 (which is 12 months free) instead.

On another note, I've spoken to a few more affiliates who've confirmed that Mobileshop earnings are well over £1 consistantly and growing. From what I've been told, it's one of the best converting Mobile phone sites around.

    Hi there,

A record sales day yesterday for Mobileshop and FTM - well done for those of you contributing to that success!

As a result of some this huge volume, we have had to pull the 12 Months FREE Line Rental deal on the Nokia 6060. This is proving a big hit and we are struggling to buy in the quantities. The deal has been amended the deal to 10 Months FREE Line Rental which will help slow the sales down, but is still a good deal.

Nokia 6030 deal is still live on the site. http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...Pnewo260300003

My predicted top-seller for today is the W550i on O2 with 12 months half price - http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...Pnewo2w5500003

Other stand out offers are the Nokia N90 (Now FREE on O2 250 - http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...PNEWO2NK900004) , the BOGOF Motorola V3 (http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...PONE20v3bk0003) and the Samsung D600 (As modelled by Jose Mourinho, though doubt he'd be interested in the 10 months half price line rental included - http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...PNEWO2d6000004)

We expect today to still be very strong, and tomorrow too. Orders are guarenteed up to 2pm tomorrow, and there's a very good chance that even stuff ordered later that day, up to Thursday afternoon may still arrive in time (particularly if there are Christmas Eve deliveries in the customer's area). It's not all PAYG at this time of year, contrary to what we all might have thought!

As always, if you have any questions, please let me know, if not - have a very Merry Christmas!

    Hi there,

Mobileshop has been having a surprisingly busy February, with sales up on what was a good January! Sales have been largly driven by top-line handsets such as the fabulous Nokia N90, the Sony Ericsson W900i and some really popular Motorola handsets. Just a to let you know - we've had a big change in the deals on the Mobileshop site today to take the focus away from O2 and towards t-mobile and three. Please have a look at the deals you're promoting and check that they're still current.

There are some really good t-mobile deals at the moment - such as the PEBL which is half price for life - http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...hp_ctr_img_phn and the Nokia N70 which is half price for 12 months - http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...pone20nk700004

Essentially, the value of the deals at the lower end of the O2 tariffs has been reduced to push customers towards the top-end O2 deals and Three and T-Mobile. Mobileshop's deals still represent great value for money, and should be very attractive to customers who are prepared to look at different deals.

I have only just recieved notice of this myself, but the changes should be taking place over the next hour or so - The product feed is updated at midnight every night, but I am trying to get this moved forwards today to help you.

For those of you not using the feeds, please find the links below - you'll need to add your AF tracking to the beginning of each deeplink. Feedback so far indicates that they're pretty good!

    For CSV feed
    http://www.mobileshop.com/feeds/mobi..._feed_v1_1.csv

    For XML feed
    http://www.mobileshop.com/feeds/mobi..._feed_v1_1.xml

Any questions, please do drop me a line.

I agree. The N70 and PEBL offers on T-Mobile are both poor value for money. In fact, the N70 and PEBL offers from Mobileshop on O2 and Orange are cheaper and 12 month contracts. I think some of the best offers at Mobileshop are definitely on O2, particularly the N90, the 6270 and the XDA Mini S ...all offering good value for money when compared to their competitors.

I'm inclined to agree with you both, I appreciate that - Mobileshop are getting more 12 month contracts on t-mobile, but the 18 month ones allow more discounts etc to users - it's up to you which ones you promote. Hopefully the T-mobile offers are competitive compared to other t-mobile offers in the marketplace. I think they should be! There are generally 12 month contracts available on most tariffs/phones - have a look at http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...msung-d600.php for an example.

Mobileshop need to ensure that the balance of sales is not too heavily skewed in favour of one network so that they can continue to offer great deals on all the networks, as part of the marketing mix, affiliates also need to help out with that where they can in order to maintain all the deals on the site etc.

    Gavin.

An affiliate cannot get emotionally attached and if contracts are expensive, they wont be promoted.

The tracking issue is still not sorted out and to stop the good deals all at once and giving last minute notice is a bit suprising.

All the good deals certainly haven't been stopped, and I'm not aware of any tracking problems - if you know different, please email me. We are implementing the automatic de-duplication at source from March the 1st - this won't affect the number of conversions you are getting, it'll just stop most invalid sales showing in your reporting in the first place.

There are plenty of good deals on the site still, I think to say "all of the good deals have stopped" would be pretty far from the mark. The N90 (http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...e-phone-finder) is still flying out, and is one of the best offers around, as has been stated above. There will be a big shake up (in a positive way) of the T-Mobile deals today and this afternoon, so check back tomorrow (or look at the datafeed) and you'll see an improvement on a lot of tariffs.

Two phones that are worth a look at are the V3x (refurb) on Three Video Talk and text 700 - http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...PTHREEV3XR0005 which has 6 months half price - the first lot of V3x's imported into the country were all rejected on quality grounds, and Mobileshop have managed to source these. I believe there are severe stock issues for other merchants on the Three network with this one.
Another good seller on Three is the LG U880 - it comes with 12 months half price, on a 12 month contract, but also a free LG Mp3 player, you wouldn't have thought it would've made that much difference, but the quality, branded, Mp3 player has seen a big spike in sales. http://www.mobileshop.com/mobile-pho...e-phone-finder

I'm not suggesting that you do get emotionally attached to a programme, but be aware (not just with this one) that helping a company make a sustainably profitable affiliate programme can help you over the course of a year, and be a sound business decision not an emotional one. If you're in it for a quick win, then it doesn't apply to you, and neither would I expect anyone to make a non-sensible business decision. I just think it's fair that you know the whole picture! There are no major dramas, and we want to keep it that way...

That's FTM, not Mobileshop, and I'm aware about that, point taken though. I'm doing everything I can to get that sorted, it's as frustrating for you as for me, honestly!

Anyway, that's a reporting issue, not a tracking one!

    QUOTE]

You're a funny man Gavin, Affiliates certainly DO NOT have to help out where they can, we are all businessmen and women who will make the right decisions for their own profitability not in order to maintain the deals on a merchants website. (I don't remember reading that in any merchant or network T & C's)

If we see another merchant has a better offer than that offered by MS, regardless of conversion rates and commission they will get the traffic, our customers expect to find the best deals and we know from experience that if you offer these your conversions go up as does your CPA.

Is this your company? ie: R.O.Eye or MobileShop?

Would you care to elaborate on this point? I can't see how you have helped us personally over the past year?

    Thanks
