yeh I've been looking at flights from Antiqua to Barbados and they're only £200 return. The probs is I recall being told that they're notoriously unreliable.

Can anyone recommend a good way to do it? I know Virgin do that leg as part of the Carribean to UK route ...

    Lee,

Are you talking about Excel by any chance?

I've got a blog post on this, but I don't think I've uploaded it yet.

In a nutshell, they do have their issues, but I got a return to Antigua for £380, all in & up front. I was delayed by two hours. The plane was still there when I left Antigua the next morning, but that's another story. Afaik, the flight was still a bargain.

yeh we got flights from Manchester to Antigua with BMI. I was annoyed as I wanted Virgin as their service is great. BMI was actually cheaper than the deal we could have got with BA even taking into account the discount we could have got from Laura's uncle who works for BA.

I'm thinking of not trying to get from Antigua to Barbados. I was looking at Caribbean Airlines and Western Air, but remember speaking to the late Andrew Stevens when I was over there last year and he said that the local airlines were a joke. I don't really want to spend half my holiday in an airport waiting for flights to another island

    Lee,

"airlines were a joke. I don't really want to spend half my holiday in an airport waiting for flights to another island"

LOL - this is still true I'm afraid.

Getting in and out of Nevis is extremely difficult. On my last trip, I wanted to take in St Martin aswell, and I think I ended up flying over my parents' place about 4 times before actually landing there.

On the way back, the flight was heavily delayed, but there is a nice bar with a hammock at the end of the runway. There are certainly many worse places to wait for a flight!

Antigua airport was being rennovated, but I think the cafe at the top should still be open. You might even catch some cricket at the nearby Stamford's ground. Don't know if they have a prize for hitting the ball out of the ground and onto the apron yet?

    Hi Guys,
Quick question. Is the internet cafe the only place where we can get online in Barbados?

Never mind, I could do with a break from the computer, if I bring it is there enough room at the cafe for us all to get a bit of basic work done?

Yeah - I suspect it will just be a few of us that are sad enough to go down there - I need to have a few regular checkins for work but apart from that most of the days will be spent in the sun

Look forward to seeing you on Friday!

    Hey Aldo,

If people need to spend sometime working we have a back-up plan with the tour company.

    See you on Friday.
