    Hi
We currently run an affiliate program with over 300
affiliates , its doing ok, but we don't have a dedicated
    affiliate manager.
we would like to have one as we are sure it has great potential
if someone could put some more effort into it.
The thing is we would only pay on results.
    a % of the sales.
do you think we would be able to attract someone on this basis.

    Hi Stan

    Welcome to the forum.

Just reading your post and noticed you were looking for an affiliate manager, have you considered looking at an affiliate marketing agency that could manage your account for you, saving you the cost of a full time member of staff.

If this is something of interest to you please email me and we can have a look at your site and make some recommendations on how we will be able to help..

If you find any (extra) good ones....please send them this way!

I am also looking for an Affiliate Manager. They seem a bit thin on the ground.

Unless you need a full-time employee - ie your affiliate scheme makes about £100k per year in profit for you, then go with an agency. Many will only charge a small amount for management, and will probably do a better job, for half the cost and resource that a new employee would.

I do recognise that in a lot of areas, in-house affiliate mangagers have certain advantages, but for many smaller programmes, it's best to outsource.

Humm... I'm sure a affiliate manager would push your business forward, also think about other forms of support like affiliate forums, which can reduce the time you need to invest, also I would recommend a 2nd tier program for attracting new affiliates.

    Good luck in your hunt

That sounds interesting. Roughly what are the level of costs involved in going down this route, please? If you don't want to specify actual figures, it would still be good to know how the agencies charge. Flat fee? Percentage?

    Thanks
