Hard to say, but wantedpronto is probably the world's first wanted engine (as opposed to search engine). Launching 6th April 2006.

An open doorway for commissions from over 250 service and product types. And that's just for starters.

At its most simple level it goes like this:

    1. Consumers create wanted adverts for services and products.
    2. The adverts are electronically broadcast/published to suppliers (i.e. merchants).
    3. A limited number of merchants (specified by the consumer) purchase the consumer's contact details from wantedpronto.
    4. The affiliate that introduced the consumer gets paid a lifetime commission of up to 60% on every contact fee received for that consumer, even if they never visit your website again. The estimated value of a SINGLE consumer introduction is c£216 per annum.

wantedpronto incorporates the powerful feedback mechanisms of the likes of eBay, and it's as simple as Google in it's clarity for a consumer.

There is so much to tell you that it's probably better if you log on to our website to read our affiliate pre registration information.
    http://www.wantedpronto.com/affiliatezone.

Please come back and give us some feedback!

p.s. David Ryder (Affiiliate Manager) and myself will be in Bristol tomorrow evening, and will be delighted to chat with you further. Give us a call on 07783 299407 during the evening and we'll catch up.

If you want people to submit their details can I suggest it would be a good idea to have a clear privacy policy on your website - I'm very reluctant to give out my address and telephone number(s) if I'm not sure what you're going to do with them

(and I assume you're registered under the Data Protection Act )
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

Oh and what you have may be interesting but you're most definitely not the first, I cant think of the url off the top of my head but there is at least one other site already doing what you're offering.

    Hi kbudden,

Thanks for pointing out the privacy policy issue. Our DPA number is shown in our privacy policy which will be live shortly.

All comments are very welcome, because although we've been around as a lead generation agency for 3 years and as an advertising agency for 12, we can still make ommisions and mistakes.

    Cheers

    David

I have had a couple of people contact me and ask about commissions and reporting.

We have a live reporting system that informs you of the commissions outstanding, with details of the 'Consumer Wants' that have been acquired. This gives full accountability and trackability.

I will arrange for this information to be made available on our website and in the Pre Registration Pack. As soon as this has been done I will post a short notice to let you know.

Try visiting http://wantedpronto.com/ rather than http://www.wantedpronto.com/ - you might want to take a look at that...

As a merchant selling relatively low value goods it is not of interest to me to have to personally contact customers.

Presumably it might work for high value goods but even then it would need a merchant with time on their hands to go chasing after orders in this way.

Unless I have missed the point?

These sort of schemes are great but many of them are tele operated through premium numbers, if i use one as an example.

Garages across england get a premium rate number that they can call and place an advert for a reliant robin gearbox for example. This then gets faxed or emailed to every car breakers in the country who if they want to can contact the customer and make a bid. Now in this example everyone gets to know about it in the "group" and so you get bombarded with so much choice that the consumer gets a great deal. I for one have bought many car engines this way when i was a teenager.

Because the cost was on the advertisers side and it was free to a merchant you had an abundance of advertisers to a much more serious buyer.

This is essentially the same thing, however! any merchant can "buy" the lead which does not mean that the customer is actually going to get what they are looking for perfectly, they are going to get whatever company are willing to pay for it, which may not be the best deal for them for example.

It is great that someone effectively has taken a very old and tired idea or business practise and transferred it to the web, after all it has worked for decades offline so i guess it will continue, though i think people are a lot more detail conscious online compared to offline. For example no one cares abotu entering a competition in a mag or paper and giving the name and address, which we all know is sold off as leads for one thing or another, yet online people are a lot more weary.

Will see, i might give it a go, see what its like.

    Hi Sillyjokes

wantedpronto is initially rolling out with roughly 250 categories, mainly services, we expect to bring in mainstream products later in the year. This is because we have an opportunity to do so, and as you rightly point out wantedpronto is particularily appropriate for higher value needs with generally greater margins.

Saying that, we have a STORE facility built into wantedpronto in anticipation of needs like yours. When a consumer requests a quote for a product, instead of you having to make contact with each consumer, we can send your store or a link to the category/item on your website.

A STORE will cost from as little as £10 per month and is designed for offline retailers who don't wish to maintain a large website.

Just a quick note to say 'thank you' to all the people who have contacted us with queries and/or suggestions - they have all been taken on board and, wherever possible, applied to wantedpronto.

I would also like to thank all those people who took the time to speak with us on Thursday 23rd February in Bristol. The event was very useful to us and we are looking forward to the next one!

If anyone has sent a message to us and not received a reply please get in touch with me and I will make sure that we get back to you asap.

    Thanks again.
