Bathroom Products

Hi everyone,

I am looking to choose an affiliate network and have started contact with a couple. Does anyone know a good choice for bathroom products ?

We have a huge catalog (currently 1,000 products but increasing this to nearly 8,000 by the new year) and we are looking to get a network that would have relevant affiliates to help promote these goods, perhaps some DIY sites etc.

Bathroom products are a difficult one to promote. Have a chat with POR or Affiliate Future, but it all depends on your business model. The UK market is taken up by the big boys and with drop in centres for most plumbing related products (Plumb Centre being one) where the majority of your buyers are really the trade who expect a huge discount you see the problem.

We certainly understand that it isn't your average affiliate program. We do deal a lot with the trade at our own showroom but we still know there is a lot of revenue out there to be had (the top three performers in this sector took over £20million online last year).

What I am really interested in is if someone knows of a program that already has some big affiliates in this sector such as diy sites or similar. I don't want to sign up to a program that everyone thinks is fantastic if all their affiliates are insurance comparison sites for example.

Well we had a few replies but I put them off until after christmas and we are now starting to think about where we want to go with this.

As of yet we have not made a decision and could still be swayed one or another. One thing which we asked and to be honest have still yet to receive a real answer is what benefit they feel their network could be to us. What we are getting at is whether they feel that their mix of current affiliates would be able to effectively able (or even want) to promote products in our sector.

We are selling the best brands at some of the most competitive prices and our conversion rate is currently excellent, however we feel it's important to get the right affiliates to work with us and not just any old traffic.

I'm sure you'll find the right network. Looking at one merchant in that sector I know it took them a few months before things started coming together for them. Every program has a bedding in period so don't expect instant results. You'll need to look at affiliate marketing in the longer term if you are going to make a success of it.
