Hi,

Given the success of the last two cross-network hosted events in London there seems to be a collective will for these to become a regular occurrence.

This time we're giving everyone the option of picking the day they'd most like to attend, be it July, August or September.

I'm also conscious other networks may be hosting events so want to steer clear of these as well.

It will be in central London again, venue TBC.

Incidentally if any merchants/agencies would also like to get in on the action then drop me an email.

I voted for the earliest date .. 29th I'll be in Geneva and August clashes with the Edinburgh Festival and anyone that has a life needs to be there for that

Unless you want to do it in Edinburgh that would be a blast ... start booking hotels now ..

And September is just too far...

Go for the early one ... could maybe even make it a picnic ?

Well, from the few people who have replied it would seem there is very little appetite for another event.

Chris, just so you're aware from having organised two of these before, finding a venue in central London on a Friday that doesn't want a significant minimum spend proved nigh on impossible.

Given we're trying to manage the costs we've taken a punt on the last two venues who wanted in excess of what all networks and sponsors committed. Fortunately we exceeded that but a Friday pretty much doubles what they want guaranteed at the bar. As the event is free and about 100 people who registered didn't show at the last one it makes forecasting tricky.

I was going to add a Friday option but felt too many people wouldn't be able to make it due to other commitments.

On the issue of the venue, if anyone has any ideas for a spacious bar/pub in London that we can hire exclusively then please let me know.

I said something similar a wee while ago in one of my posts as very few people responded, and I got a little disheartened. However, a number of people pointed out that the forum probably isn't as popular as it once was - with the advent of twitter, blogging etc, hence the lack of response.

Don't get disheartened mate - you know when it comes to it, the event will be rammed and there will be countless people bemoaning the fact that they 'didn't register in time' and now it's completely sold out. :-)

You're probably right - managing the numbers can be a bit of an ordeal - perhaps we should charge a nominal fee as Matt started to at some of the pub get togethers a few years back to encourage people to turn up and avoid no shows.


I tend to avoid social networking sites so if anyone wants to mention it on Facebook/Twitter etc. then feel free to.

Just wanted to add in my 10p worth...

It's our summer BBQ down in Plymouth on the 13th August, so the 6th might be a little close for some of the Existem AM crew... Plus it's my bday on the 5th, so I might already have a hangover! lol

Just a thought, but what about taking it to the other side of the weekend, maybe have it on the Sunday - I am sure venues would love the business, and it could satisfy Chris' (very valid) point about 1 working day.
