  Hotels for London tomorrow

Am toying between that dreaded last train, a kind offer of a bed, or a hotel for tomorrow's TD g2g. The Premier TI is full, where is everyone else staying?

Clarke,

Are you flying in?

If I do get a hotel, I'd be just as likely to get one near Euston and drop bags there before heading over.

Hi, this one http://www.strandpalacehotel.co.uk/ is pretty close http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=WC2R...0.051207&hl=en and has rooms and decent rates, end of the day you will be so drunk and merry after the TD event that you would sleep in a corridor (see Jamie about sleeping in a Hotel corridor of a 5 star hotel while paying the same rate as if you had a bed for the night )

Laterooms has better rates than the Hotel could offer http://www.laterooms.com/en/L72948.h...s=0&aNts=1&d=1

Yes, also so won't be at the event until 7pm. This night out to the "pub" ok much more fun than that is turning an expensive overnight trip

I'd say the Strand "Palace" is a bit of a misnomer, that place is big on size but not much else. As you say though, you are just looking for a bed for the night, and you can even stagger back there if you can't get a taxi + it has good access to tubes in most directions for the airports.

No place can be worse then the very first hotel I stayed in for an Affiliate event, it was so bad everyone talks about it at every event. The shower was also the toilet and the toilet/shower was bolted on to the wall in the same room.. and if you where really slumming it (and I thought I was until heard from a few others) you could have had a room with no toilet or shower and had to use a communal one that only had cold water LOL oh dear, after that experience I seen all hotels in a new light. Should have known a hotel that had the same name as my local Chinese Take Away wasn’t going to be a good place to stay

Supercod,

Sorry, I think I was getting this one mixed up with the Regent Palace, which is due for a big renovation. I've booked here too, £50 on Expedia wasn't bad, especially with the cash back

On the other hand, there was this other hotel on offer, which looked like an absolute bargain:

Swissotel The Howard, London

London, England Area: Covent Garden/Soho Virtual Tour Available

Availability request: 1 room Expedia Special Rate Thu 20-Oct-2005 to Fri 21-Oct-2005

Room type Thu Total rate*
Superior King River View £1200 £1,423.50 Book it

So if that was the special rate, I wonder what the rack rate is
