Sorry for a slight off topic post!
Just a quick one for you James. I'll text you later when on way to the Charlatons, will be easy enough to mete up there as it's only a small venue! I did try to PM you but it says you dont accept PM's.

    Cheers

What a fabulous day. Was a true pleasure to meet up with everyone. Our Purple Parking team didn't do particularly well, but it's all about the taking part right? Well, that's our excuse for not playing well!

A big thumbs up to buy.at for arranging it and I hope we'll do it again next year

I guess there are some blogs I need to catch up on, but I agree James that isn't fair on us is it?

You will all have to come up to the Alan Higgs centre in Coventry for some training.

Wardy - thought I'd re-enabled PMs, but it was really great to meet up with you yesterday. With all that rain, I guess we surged forward out of need rather than anything else, but we ended up about 2 metres away from TB at one stage. I don't think I've ever taken two batterings like that in the same day, it certainly won't be forgotten quickly.

Not quite, but astro turf burns are harsh and my left knee is not good. When they say no slide tackling it's for a good reason!

Well done to venturian media for winning the competition. It would of been a bit funny if buy.at had won their own competition now wouldn't it.

    Yeh well done guys!

They only won because we softened up the buy.at team with some crunching tackles!

I'd like to thank buy.at and everyone who turned up for making it a very enjoyable day of "the peoples game".

All games had a nice blend of "friendly" banter , competitiveness and comedy which made for plenty to discuss in the bar afterwards over a drink or three.

All we need now is some video footage so I can prove to my mates that I actually scored a goal or two (having not scored for my 11 aside team for about 5 years)!

Look forward to the next tournament which Brownie says will be in Newcastle - apparently travelling so far down south was to blame for his sending off in the final!

I'll second that one - if only to shut up Mitchy above. It might have taken me three games to warm up, but that's why I insisted on the golden goal, so I'd have one last chance to prove myself.

Next time, I'll find that form from the start, and it won't just be Brownie who has to leave the pitch, it will be the whole buy.at team - whether the ref instructs them or not, they won't want to deal with the humilation.

    Hi,

I would just like to say a big thank you to all those that turned up and made it a fantastic day. Photos are up on the buy.at homepage so take a look:

    http://www.buy.at/aboutus/football2007_images.php

I will work on the video footage tomorrow (it may need some editing, not sure Warrick is the most skillful cameraman

We look forward to hosting the 2nd buy.at football tournament so watch this space over the coming months for details....

    Cheers

    Laura
