I can manage a team, but after knee operations due to rugby, can no longer tackle a 4yr old, let alone a big heavy hairy affiliate!

    Laura,

This is a really cool idea, but you don't mention anything about timing?

We can field a team of 3 or 4, but Flightmapping is going to have to go through a merger with someone to make the full 7 with subs! Any offers?

Also, Lewis & I (and Wardy + a fair few others?) are off to see the Charlatans that night in Thirlmere Forest, Notts. Doors open at 6 - don't know much about support acts yet, but we might have to throw the match so we get knocked out fairly early. Any bribes on offer from gambling syndicates will be gratefully recieved.

Think that makes post 3 out of my allowance of 10 for the month

I'm really bad at sports, however I am really, really up for this. I'm sure I can manage to get a few people together.

    Hi,

    Good point James!

We anticipate that if we get all 16 teams signed up the total event will take 5 hours, with breaks and 30 minute matches.

We have the first game kicking off at 1pm, with registration taking place at 12.15, so the event would finish at 6pm.

Remember that you will only have to be there for that long if you make it to the final!

If anybody is interested but doesnt have a full team get some posts up here and join forces

    Thanks

    Laura

It's at Delamere Forest in Cheshire that night mate

As has been said it's a great idea and sounds like it could be a laugh but due to the gig in the evening I won't be able to come along and win the tournament (all good for the otehr teams I guess)

    Cheers

I don't want to be pessimistic about affiliate fitness levels but the two finalists will end up playing 2 and half hours of five a sides and my normal 1 hour weekly game just about kills me!

Great idea for a different type of event though - well done to buy.at

I'm really bad at Footie having played rugby throughout school. If anyone is extremely desperate and comes up short on their team feel free to drop me a line. Alternately, if there are any other really ****e players out there then get in touch and we can form a guerilla team.

Come on affiliates; get yourselves signed up for the tournament.

I have read the football talk on the forum and remember all those 'experts' on England last year during the world cup, well now is the time to stand up and be counted and do your talking on the pitch
