Like I said... its what ever you are/were looking for as an individual or a company Pete.
Just because its not your cup of tea does not mean that its not some one elses, surely?

Your decision was swayed by what some one else said?
How can you even comment then on something you did not attend, but only heard about?
    Makes no sense to me.
Yes i do trust people enough to be 'swayed' by what they say and an afternoon with my inbox seemed justified. You do need to remember that we ran an event the week before and i'd spent 2 days at adtech, which has given me more than enough work for the next 6 months!

I've only commented on the event i attended, i'm sure the Summit organisers will get the feedback in due course from the attendees and the non attendees.

Sounds like i've touched a nerve and the event wasn't actually that great?

Sorry to have missed you. Hopefully, the people that gave you the report will share their feedback when we touch base and ask for it.

I love constructive criticism, as it's the only way to evolve.

And anybody that has attended a number of Affiliate Summits has undoubtedly seen the show reflexively morph based on the feedback.

OK - yes I spoke at Affiliate Summit but other than that have no vested interest so here's my feedback on the event.

Was it worth attending? - I would say definitely Yes - the atmosphere was good, there was plenty of room to network and it was good to meet people from outside of the UK - I personally established contact with a couple of US networks I had not met before who look potentially interesting and also identified a couple of joint venture opportunities both here and in mainland Europe.

Could it have been better? - Yes - for me there were two problems, there were no announcements in the exhibition hall of when the conference sessions were about to start so I missed 15 minutes of the SEO presentation as I hadn't looked at my watch - ok that was half my fault but an announcement would have got my attention.

The second problem was that the two conference rooms were not that well soundproofed so if you were sitting at the back of the room it was hard to hear the speaker(s) in your room over the sound of the speaker(s) in the other room.

But overall a really good event with a sensible number of delegates so you didn't need to shout to have a conversation with someone.
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

Did you not read anything I have written?

Had you attended you may be better equipped to comment and your negativity would have some merit, as it stands its meaningless and irrelevant. How can you comment on something you did not attend? It’s a simple question Pete

lol...I've not commented on something i've not attended. Had i attended i certainly would have commented, just like i've commented about Adtech. I'm always happy to comment when i have something to comment about!

As the first proper structured UK Summit for affiliate marketing in this country it was a worthwhile enterprise. It had an international feel and was great to speak to non-UK affiliate marketers, something that doesn't often present itself at more UK-centric get togethers.

The fact that we have the Expo coming up this month however is also great - two affiliate summits/conferences in as many months signals a real maturity.

Pete as a representative of a major UK network it's a shame you were unable to attend. I'm not saying it was perfect but in context the Summit and the Expo are pretty significant leaps forward that we can all be positive about.

Jess, apologies for not catching up with you, everytime I walked past you were deep in conversation.

I attended both AdTech and Affiliate Summit. The former to explore video advertising for a client and look at new technology in marketing and the latter to meet with a client and conduct some business.

Both AdTech and Affiliate Summit were highly rewarding. Got a juicy contract and lots of work over the coming months so all in all I achieved what I set out to achieve and the two venues were ideal for what I was aiming to achieve.

I shall not be attending A4UExpo this year but I may do so next year as I have nothing relevant to bring to A4UExpo but this shall obviously change for next time around.

I don't think comparing one venue to the other is truly relevant. Each venue caters to a different need. It just so happened that the two venues I did attend were exactly right for me at the time.

It was also nice to chat with you Frostie. Many thanks also to Buy At and Affiliate Summit for the excellent pre Affiliate Summit Party. Your hospitality was superb and kudos to Laura who worked all day and still looked radiant after setting everything up.

    I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
