What kind of things go on at these events?

Generally a lot of drinking and talking shop.

They're a really good place to put face to the names on here and pick up a few tips and tricks regardless whether you're an affiliate, network, merchant or agency. Just take the plunge and don't be shy introducing yourself.

It's not a place for the big pressured sales pitch, just a nice bit of networking, catching up and meeting some new faces. Oh, and cadging cigarettes off Paul & Tom all night :blush

Definitely a good event last year.

Organisers, is there any chance you could give people the option of putting forum names on their badges?

Sounds brilliant and thanks very much to the organisers for setting it up.

How loud will the music be please? If it's going to be blasting out at full volume so that I have to yell at the top of my voice to get heard by the person 30cm away from me, as is often the case with such events, then it won't be worth me coming; if it's more conducive to civilised discourse then I will be.

From an organisational point of view we'll not have a huge amount of resource to put into this. Assume if you've emailed you're registered although we'll try to confirm with a bulk email closer to the time.

With regards badges we'll try and produce some, possibly colour coded to differentiate.

As for venue, nothing confirmed as yet so can't give anymore details.

Hi,

I've had a couple of questions regarding the rough location of the event. Given West End can be pricey in terms of minimum spends for whole venue hire I've found a couple of places that seem pretty decent and with lower guaranteed spends.

Both of these are in or around The City, one St Paul's area, the other a stone's throw from last year's event in Farringdon. We're still exploring other options and venues but these two are favourites at the moment.

Hi again,

I'm out of the office tomorrow so won't be able to update here should I need to.

I've had a number of people emailing to ask if their place is reserved. To date we have only registered around 50 people so there's still plenty of space available.

The two venues I'm currently looking at hold 300-330 people so assuming we have around 60-70 network staff that still leaves plenty of space for agencies, merchants and of course affiliates to register.

For ease of access and to ensure all the information is in one place please email your name, status (merchant, affiliate, agency, network, other) and whether you require an additional place (max two per company) to affiliategettogether@gmail.com. If you've posted on here you'd like to attend but haven't emailed please take a minute to do so to make my life easier!

I'm able to keep a complete file of all attendees in this gmail account that can be accessed by the other networks as they add extra names.

If you email that address assume you're registered. I'll post as we're reaching capacity but don't envisage that happening for a while yet.

We'll aim to get further communications out next week.
