Affiliate events Up North
I've noticed that a lot of AM events - and events put on by networks - happen in and around London.
Now, being a Northern Monkey, it's a bit of a trek and an expense for me to get to these sorts of things, so I'm just wondering... Do any events ever get held in Manchester, Leeds or Liverpool?

Yes there are affiliate events that are held in the North West!
R.O.EYE have hosted a few get-to-togethers right here in sunny Manchester and some of the networks also do a little tour of the area every now and again. A4U Expo moves around the various regions of the country as well which is very good.
It would be great to get some input from affiliates on what would attract you to these kinds of events. Are you an affiliate and if so what would you want to get out of coming to one?
Would you make the effort to just come along for a beer and a chat, or would you want something more structured??Richard Wright, Senior Programme Executive

Thing is, I'm quite new to running my own affiliate site (actually, I'm still building my first site). I know a bit about AM through my soon-to-be-gone job and through reading this forum and various blogs, but I wouldn't consider myself experienced. So in that sense, I suppose I'd be looking to learn a few things and maybe get to know a few others?

a northern event could be good, formal or informal, either would be good.
Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Lincoln, York ???

Oh and yeah, well up for something up North....anywhere along the M62 corridor would be good, even Liverpool. Would need to get more from it that drinks and backslapping though, sorry for the cynicism but I spent many years trolling the exhibitions in London and felt as though I came away with little more than carrier bags and gonks to be honest.

We had a Christmas do in Manchester which was well attended by plenty of 'Northern folk'.
It was mooted that another one would be good to have and I'm always up for a beer - Manchester, Sheffield or Liverpool are all fine for me.
