    Hi,

I am still relatively new to this and have been focussing my efforts recently on building 2 content rich sites so have ignored my earlier sites that I have launched.

My two first sites are now getting around 20 visits each a day but are not really converting or feeding much traffic through to the merchants. I thought it would be worth at least reviewing the format of the landing pages so that I could make a bit of cash out of these sites as they are getting traffic.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could take a look at the sites and give me some feedback for making the product pages more convertable.

    HealthyLivingShoes.co.uk

    HealthyLivingSkinCare.co.uk

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You need approximately 100 visitors to make 1 sale (as a rough estimate although this depends entirely on the product you are selling).

Personally i would never buy a product that needs trying on online - hence i'd probably think you'll need more than the average 1 in 100 visitors.

Perhaps try and write some more content and make it more interesting - add some photos and other images to break the text up and pad everything out - its just a bit text heavy at the moment imho.

The industry guideline is approx 1% visit to conversion. So your starting point could be looking into traffic building, PPC ads, link building.

1% of 20 isney that many I am afraid.

I completely agree that 20 per day is not a lot, but 500 per month is a bit more and on those stats, I should get around 5 sales a month or 1 a week and I'm not even achieving that.

I don't plan on adding more content to these sites for the time being as I'm focussing on adding a lot of content to 2 other sites. I just wanted to know if there are any school boy mistakes that I am making with the way I am displaying these products.

    Thanks

IMHO there is not a lot wrong with the 'display' as it stands BUT I am a keen follower of emotive calls to action.

I see none I am afraid, just plain old titles in links and a grubby amazon button. (I no like amazon...JMHO)

This article "Phrased that pay" I wrote may help explain what I mean. Fear not, it is not a cookie stuffed, dirty link

I think more images might be the key to it and variety of avalaible products.

Masai Shoes | HealthyLivingShoes.co.uk for example (unless its my computer playing up) doesn't have an image and two lines of text isn't really selling it! Instead of writing generic information about Masai Shoes you need a photo and details about what they look like, the sizes they come in etc

Also on clicking the link in the above example the product isn't even avaliable - how are people going to buy the product if its not avaliable? Even if you get a visitor to click they will reach (in this case) Amazon and then click offsite to find another site that does stock the product they want!

Whats the point in telling people about a product if they can't buy it?

Thanks for your responses. I agree that I need more of a call to action.

Regarding the Masai shoes link, that is the category page. This is the actual page:

There are too many clicks to get to the actual page. After click on Masai Shoes in the navigation people expect to get that info, not have to click yet again. Many people wouldn't even realise you have to click twice to get the info - you're losing out there.

Thanks for the feedback. Spot on with that point. However, all of the sub pages are optimised for the product name. So the traffic is coming in to the page directly e.g. "massai shoes" search takes you directly to the massai shoes page.

In that case get rid of the categories widget in the right column and replace it with the latest posts widget...
