Hi,

Just about to relaunch our cruise community site,
and really need some feedback on 2 new designs, and current.
Then the design with most votes will get built and go live in 2 weeks

Things to consider:
target age 45-75
improve usability, call to action etc
make the dynamic content stand out
aim to improve user's adding content
and people want to come back every week etc

Please score all 3 site's out of 100
and let me know what design get's your vote for the objectives.
and any other feedback would be brilliant.

I'll go design 3, then 1, then 2.

Design 3 - cleaning, more web2 in style, 2 coloumns is much better (ie 4 coloumns at fixed with its too crammed).

I'm in the right age group, and readability is what counts for a lot of older eyes.

2,3,1 and even 2 fails below the fold as the font size gets smaller than is comfortable for scanning.

On 3 the search bar is fairly low contrast between background and font colour and this can cause problems for some older people.

Maybe a but too much going on for the cruise generation though?

I think #2 would work best for cruise, it's a bit reminiscent of the Daily Mail travel section!.

I think you could be right, some cruise terms are very expensive on PPC, and I had 2 sales call from Google, one from US and one from the UK, maybe there reveune is falling! I'm not even getting much traffic yet, nice of them to make contact, is often me who can never get hold of any one from the big G.
