Hey folks,

a friend and I are working on some software at the moment that will allow you to market your business using Twitter.

Using the Twitter API, the software will allow you to target twitter users by what they are talking about.

Imagine you are selling Bananas in London. The Software will allow you to send a tweet (@reply) to users who mention the word Bananas and are within a 10 mile radius of London.

It doesnt have to be used geographically. For the grand national I had my twitter account set to message 2 people per hour that mentioned th Grand National. It worked very well for me and got me a lot of Betfair Sign ups :-)

The software is ALMOST ready. Once its ready, we will be looking for a small group of users to try out the software first. We will be charging a monthly subscription to use the software.

Without trying to sound cheesy, the possibilities are literally endless!

No matter what company you have, this will be an excellent way to target potential clients

Sounds interesting... I was planning on perhaps doing something similar, but manually searching for tweets.

Still, I'm just thinking, aren't Twitter bringing out an 'adwords' facility soon? If Google buys them out, that would seem almost certain.

It is a something lots will LOVE, there is already a company out their charging for this service. I have checked out what they do and they have some well known twitters using them including Guy Kawasaki. I also wrote about it in my twitter ebook Some people HATE it because they see it as pollution social media. It is a bit like marmite that way, love it or hate it. BUT the good news is that there is a market for it.
