To be fair he does quite a bit of charity/relations/diplomatic work nowadays. Keeps its quiet though.

The world is right in this instance, Blair deserves more. He his a true leader who has really impacted our world. A truly deserved honour indeed. The stone we threw out of our house turns a valuable asset in another persons house. We should learn to accept that contentment isn't getting what we want but being satisfied with what we have. A mans value is always not known in his own house. What a shame.
Keep on rolling Blair.
Face it.... weve now had our Clinton moment tooYou don't realise what you have until its gone.
When will we have our Obama moment though?.....Any inteligent, witty, level headed takers out there (not Cameron!)
Next up, Dr Harold Shipman is given an award for services to patient care.

Considering the amount of damage he personally caused to the Middle East and the price everyone there will be paying for years to come because of his "good work", I think there's a bit more diplomatic work that needs to done before he breaks even, let alone deserves a prize.
What was really, really scary was that after he left, there was an interview in which he was asked what kept him going when he was getting so much opposition, particular to the Iraq war.
It was like trying to hit moving goalposts. First it was WMD, then it was a mission of democracy and finally under pressure he said (and I am not quoting directly) that his conviction came from a higher authority and faith that he was doing the right thing.
Some people might view that as someone who stood their ground and did what they believed in. Others might consider that ignoring mass opposition from your electorate because of faith falls into an entirely different category.
It seems he did play a large part in moving N. Ireland to peace though.
Perhaps one good win should have been enough ?
The money isn't going to him though - It's being split between his foundation and the university. Both of which I know jack all about but still it's not like he's going to actually get $1m to spend on, I don't know... say, the consumer tat that we all peddle on a daily basis...
I think his foundation is about trying to get people of different religions to stop butchering each other all the time.
Yeah it's a bit of a mammoth task. Especially when you've done so much to inflame religious hatred whilst in office.
