I've just started my first affiliate website: Family Guy DVDs - Buy Family Guy DVDs

I'm looking for any critique, good or bad.... and any pointers.

Still a few bits to finish on it.

On your homepage, you need to close the Keywords meta tag on line 6 with "/>" instead of ">"

Exactly, as you have done with the other meta tags.

There are 353 results in google for this bit of text, 354 by the time google gets its bot on this page.

"The adventures of the Griffin family continues with the story of bumbling, well-intentioned father Peter; his sweet but oblivious wife Lois; and their teenagers, dim-witted Chris and awkward Meg"

"The adventures of the Griffin family continues with the story of bumbling, well-intentioned father Peter; his sweet but oblivious wife Lois; and their teenagers, dim-witted Chris and awkward Meg" - Google Search

You really, really need to write your own text, because, unless you can figure out a reason why your site should be in the non-supplemental results, then copying text from wherever it was you got it from, I presume it was an amazon review, will result in 0 visitors, thats zero, zilch, nada.

Do it quickly, do it tonight, because you registered it today, before your site becomes another piece of detritus in googles wastebin.

It won't do to enter a niche that other folk are already filling with the same text that you are using.

Ask yourself one question, what will I add to the family guy fans experience if they come to my site? Then work your content from there.

    Heres some questions for you.

    1. Whats Stewies middle name?
    2. How and why did Joe become a paraplegic for the second time?
    3. So, you're working on your website? Making a website huh, got a homepage and some internal pages? Got a way to improve the customers experience eh? Got an easy route to the merchant, have you? Got some photographs of the cast members?
    4. Does Seth Macfarlane really only drink bourbon out of coffee cups?
    5. When did the chicken first appear in a fight with Peter?

Nah, seriously, change the text and make the site interesting for the disturbed sense of humour that family guy fans are inflicted with.

Wooo dont let them hear you say that :tup

Actually being serious its quite important. Every website is a public service if you think about it and you have a responsibility to make it accessible to everyone . Iv noticed a few customers translating to Welsh on my site and people using text browsers. I know our reputation is affiliate conversions whatever the cost but eventually you have to provide some service dont ya...... do ya?.....

Sorry went on a goody goody mission there!

Anyway the site looks pretty good to be honest my first site looked alot lot worse

Not a bad looking first site.

A little thing I would change...
You have a title 'coming soon' for preorder DVD's, The words coming soon imply you can't buy it yet.
Maybe use 'Buy/Order It Early'....Pre release. You can probably think of something better, but you get the idea.

    Good luck
    Mike
