So no more classic fee structure and PPC affiliates getting paid more? This seems especially strange given that a couple of months ago Amazon.com banned PPC affiliates completely from their program https://affiliate-program.amazon.com...omo/paidsearch

I know That's why I was commenting on how strange it was that in the US Amazon.com have banned direct PPC affiliates yet here in the UK they are increasing their reward!

So do the new requirements (more sales) needed to increase commission and the removal of the direct link bonus mean my commission will come down from 9% (which I get for some sales now) to 5%? If so this will mean a 45% in income from amazon!

All the items I promote are under £100 pretty much.

I thought the same but Amazon just confirmed it is still a classic fee plan until I change it, in which case you cannot then go back.

Arghh guys this old thread again!!

I want to promote some electrical items on Amazon.co.uk that are between £50 - £350.

When I log into amazon now it says my minimum commission is 5% - if i sell a £330 item at 5% i'd get £13 - but will it be capped to £7???

Is there something I can change in my account to get 5% on electronics uncapped?

Thanks - so much reading and still no clearer!!

The short answer is probably not.

If you had an account pre July 2009 AND you chose Classic Account AND you have never changed it since, you could get a flat 4% on everything. These accounts are no longer available today, only to those grandfathered in.

I have an old amazon account from 2005, no idea what plan its on though, but I bet if someone had an old no longer used account it would be worth some money to the right affiliate :-)

I can definitely see there being a black market for them. Say you sell 10 £600 TVs in a day. With the £7 cap, you get a measly £70 commission. However, the chosen ones who have a Classic account get about £200 worth of commission.

I got the impression from a more recent post of yours that you still had a Classic account. Is there a secret to getting one?

In July 2009 I had two accounts - a performance and a classic. Amazon switched both to search marketing accounts ( I initially thought it had been switched to a performance) and they then kindly switched one back to a classic.

I'm on classic and mostly sell laptops.
Never looked into the £7 cap in detail but did wonder why I was still getting more than that!
