and what do you guys think i could do to get a good amount of traffic that converts.

I've submitted my site to many directories and including some local ones. I'm gonna print out some flyers and distribute them, but what else is there. I've put some of my items on eBay......

theres PPC and..... , do you guys think sites like kelkoo and comparison sites are worth it? I know they charge a few hundred or even thousands to start advertising with some companies. Plus do you think advertising in newspapers would be worth it?

Offpage wise,

You have only got 5 backlinks at the moment so won't get much traffic for a while

The site is a good size so just keep working on the backlinks. Article Marketing is a good way, but whichever way it takes time so keep at it.

RF

Edit : Onpage wise, you really need some content on the frontpage to start picking some long tail keywords up.

i am looking at the pdf file, i have to say thats an excellent tool mansoor, where can i get the tool from?

thanks for the pdf, just had a quick look at it, it looks excellent..

so keep directory submitting is the key and writing articles and submitting to sites such as EZ?

is it not worth spending money on sites like kelkoo etc. or will the big boys with deeper pockets just beat me?

Does carphone warehouse give you the website when you become an affiliate wit them? It does look really cool, but if many people have the same kind of sites wouldnt google recognise the content as dupes?

Yes you can choose if you want a complete whitelabel site or iframe or deeplinking where you would create the whole site and then link it to theirs.

Have no idea if google thinks they're duplicates..maybe im gonna change it slightly and add a few html pages on it aswell......

In terms of on-page SEO your site could improve (in my
opinon.... others may think differently)

The structure of the html is quite messy and will not help with search engines. Not sure what CMS or platform you are using but I'm sure it could be easily improved.

You have too many H1s - top level headings - (I'm not sure the exact number but at least 20)
One is enough.
Your first H1 is "Best offers".
It should be something like "Best UK offers on Contract Mobile Phones"

Then you shouldn't have any h1 at all for the rest of the page. Products should be h2s on this page, H1s on their own page.... I could go on but I've got beer to drink!

If you need any further info PM me

Hi,

Just to add to what PrincessConsuela was saying about the HTML, I also put the URL to your homepage into the W3C validator and it comes up with 175 errors and over 100 warnings. Although I realise the code may be out of your control, getting it all to validate is a good bit of SEO that should improve your pagerank.

Also have you got your domain and your sitemap on Google's Webmaster Tools?

Simon you have an intresting point here...

Sorry i dont been to be hijacking this thread!! I checked my webistes regulary on W3C and otehr tools, and i get something like 29 errors and 13 warnings.

I dont code in PhP but have background knowledge in C++ etc...so i can follow a bit of code. ALL of my errors are down to the tracking urls that are embedded... what is the general consensus on this?

What if anything cna be done?

Regards (and apologies once agian for hijacking!!)

Hi aero_mansoor,

Yep, without going off-topic too much from contractmobilephonesuk's question, that's a good point about the tracking links not validating. I've had tracking code that's caused issues and had to fix it manually. One cause might be where you have an image as a link but the image element doesn't have the "alt" attribute specified, which is needed for strict XHTML. Got any examples?

These should be easily fixed...

Error 1 - Yep, needs to be lower-case, as it's XHTML.

Error 2 - Use the HTML encoding for the "&" characters in the query string, by replacing them with "&". Your links will still track exactly as expected.

Finally just check that all your links have quote marks around the href value, which are sometimes missed out!

its cool guys, no i have not got my sitemap on google's webmaster tools

the thing is this is a whitelabel site, so the title where it says "best offers" remains their for some reason but the bit after that i can change.

The whitelabel program only lets me manage certain things from the site so im trying to figure out how to change the site and keywords of the content etc. because i do not have the html code for the site and i am not even hosting it which now is gonna annoy me cause i cant optimise the pages properly...
