Using EasyContentUnits to Populate & Update Blogs Automatically

I'm not sure if anyone else has tried this yet but thought I would share it as I've found it really handy.

By using the RSS feeds option in ECU it is possible to;

• Populate blogs with products from multiple networks and across multiple merchants
• Set up blogs that will add new products when you update your ECU's

When you've created your unit you need to scroll down to the bottom and look for the RSS icon



Make a note of the location of the RSS feed or keep the window open so you can copy and paste it.

Next load up your Wordpress blog and install a plugin called WP-o-Matic - it lets you syndicate RSS feeds from other sources on your blogs.



Once it is installed you can select WP o Matic from the Settings drop down within the Wordpress admin panel



Follow the on screen options to check everything is working fine (don't forget to setup your cron to make your blog auto update!) and then you're ready to create a basic feed.

Once complete, when you click on the fetch now option and your blog will be populated with your products!!

Found this really handy for getting all the products on a blog quickly, although you will still want to add some original content etc!

We do have a couple of retail type holiday merchants on there, like Isango (WG), oh and then of course there's Haven (dgm) Otherwise, it a case of watch this space...
