Redirect 301

I've decided to split one of my sites into two and move a lot of the categories to website #2 To deal with google I'll do a redirect 301 BUT have I got to do it for each individual page or can I do it per category?

If you're running an Apache server then you might be able to use mod_rewrite to do this based on the URLs. Can you give us some examples of the URLs on the various categories?

hmm, actually looking at it that way I think I'm going to have to do each one individually!! LOL!
