Optimise for the UK .com results if I were you as most users use the google.com (well at least for me anyway)

Hi,
I've just got my latest site indexed, coming in at no.8 on google.com and no.14 on google.co.uk. However, the key words in my domain are only used by the British and was wondering if there was any way of finding out what percentage of UK internet users search using google.co.uk and how many use google.com so I know which search engine to keep my eye on and optimise for the appropriate one.
Thanks.

Like Barry said gun for the .uk results.... Google does change its results depending on what IP address your at. If your at home in the UK and you search you'll get a UK flavoured search compared to someone searching in Spain etc. This happens even if you search the .com internet
Its a bit confusing but if i were you id aim for a top 5 listing on both the .com and .co.uk variant and if at all possible nab no 1. If your product is a local one but could also be international you would be suprised who will buy! Its not uncommon for people to book parking at my site from the USA Poland Japan France etc etc.... You'll know this when you start being babblefish and Google translation being used on your site in the stats.
GOOD LUCK! hope you nab them positions:tup

My keywords receive a greater UK exact search volume than the global search volume so it's definitely a UK product than I'm promoting.
Only put up the home page so far so hopefully I'll rank better once I put more content, pages and links to it.
Anyways, thanks for your insight findlite.
