    Hi AM-rs

I've been pondering about moving one of my sites to a different host and platform. The site is currently plain old html and even though it earns a few pounds each month it's a pain in the proverbial to update and develop further, and I'm thinking about moving it to php hosting so I can install wordpress and run it with that.

However I'm a little worried about the effects this will have on Google rankings as it is currently #1 for several keywords. Obviously I can migrate all the content etc into a new theme which is similar to the current site markup, but the source code will inevitably change quite a bit.

Has anyone any experience of moving sites to different hosts and platforms? Anything I should watch out for?

BTW it's not the site in my sig - that's already in lovely lovely Wordpress :-D

    Any advice appreciated :-)

Why not just move the whole site as .htm files to your new PHP host, then you can add the PHP files later as and when you feel like it. Alternatively, if you are making enough money, just leave your existing site under your present host, and start a new second site under a new domain name at your new PHP host. Two unique sites are better than one.

Thanks accelerator - that's actually a great idea as I can use the existing site to push traffic to tje new one too!
