    Hello,

Just a quick question really, I know a few of the guys have sitelink's currently in place on their website and wondered how long on average it took for them to appear.

Also, wondered if there was anything special you needed to do to get them?

Just a but miffed really as my parking site has been around almost a year now, its pretty much the undisputed no1 for my keyword and yet iv seen sites much younger and less popular/less links etc get the sitelink treatment. Starting to think iv done something wrong along the way that means Google doesn't value my sites worth.

I guess its not a profits thing im happy with the money its a vanity thing. Hey we all gotta have a little vanity right

Sitelinks are completely autogenerated - there is no way of saying how long it takes to generate them! At the end of the day, they don't really add that much to your site, and won't help you increase your conversions... just concentrate on building backlinks and writing good quality content if you ask me Sitelinks are about has helpful as PointlessRank

If you are lucky enough that google generates sitelinks for your website you can remove unwanted ones - but sadly you can't add them.

I would argue that sitelinks add quality to your site and would certainly increase traffic. I've got some on one site that have been classed as sitelinks and I'm 'waiting' for them to become live. I think they're not live because I'm switching between first and second and (imo) you must need a long period of time in #1 spot for them to become active.

I've got another site that is a solid 1st and i've changed the structure of it to mirror the one that has been given the sitelinks so i'll keep you posted on timescales and how I did it.

Google decides if and when a site gets sitelinks.

Mine appeared after about 6 months iirc.

I can't say it made any noticeable difference but probably because I don't rank 1 for the best terms anyway, I also haven't picked out the best ones to keep.

I expect it is useful for people navigating to the forum which is most of the people who search for the site and come direct.

It was nice to see them appear, it kinda says that Google has noticed you!

Thanks for the help guys. I feel my problem is i has one input page (the index page) and thats pretty much where all my customer need to go anyway.

If i want sitelinks i think il have to put some more depth on my site.
