I've got the CSV from affiliate windows product database. It's "what you do next" - they don't have guidelines on their site.

Shopwindow was a bit unclear they don't show how you can physically start using it.

What about "deals" like new deals, deals for individual products. Products listings etc. I've done price comparison before and it's manual work that's time consuming!

We've got a great name and therefore a great brand now we need a great implementation strategy.

@ sorry for this, but what happens you know, when you've added the feed, and the price changes?
That's a programming issue. Even if somebody was inclined to give you the answer for free on a forum you wouldn't understand it and wouldn't be able to implement it

Why not phrase the question in a different way? Something like - I've got a great brand and some cash to invest. If somebody wants to work with me I'll pay either by the hour or on a rev share.

most networks have a voucher feed u can download, also there are offer feeds u can also download and automate , also promotions.

feeds wether they are code feeds, deals feeds or product feeds you would want to update them at least once a day via automation.
price comparison can all be automated also

as i said you still seem to be a newbie , thats not a problem and plenty of people are willing to help but its not as easy as u may think there , for every price comparison deal site you create there are another 10,000 similar sites being launched everyday trying to compete with the big boys

The questions you are asking are basically very simple affiliate questions, hence:

My advice do something else, even if you have lots of money, a great domain, and a great idea you will end up broke. The VC arena is split into 2 camps:

small affiliates ( no disrespect to anyone) who are happy to make a few hundred/thousands per month for a part time hobby. Almost all of these people use one of the feeds mentioned, and even though we run promotions.co.uk I would recommend people to use icodes as Leeky has built a very good system. Much better than ours

massive affiliates, ( people who have been in this game for a long time and know all the tricks, games, people, networks, agencies and have the cash). There are about 20 players I would say in this field and we all know who each other is Occasionally a new player appears but generally these are people who already understand a huge amount about the affiliate business.

    My advice...don't play.

I have built a few voucher codes sites that use the icodes system. They are totally bespoke (design wise), and are an easy way to have a voucher code site without too much hassle on having to update anything.

You dont need to worry about handling any feeds - its all automated. Which gives you time to concentrate on SEO and promoting the site.

Send me a PM if interested

Also, I really want to focus on the price comparison, and 'hot deals' aspect of things and have the vouchers as a sub section.

Creating pages for new products that come out, has links to all the prices / deals from sites. We could do the price comparsion manually, but we want to have a section for latest offers (deals) from affiliates /deals/ and a section for vouchers at /vouchers/

A nice holiday. A nice car.....an industry killer generic domain in a different sector to VC.

Having this year myself binned a large £xx,000 sum on trying to compete in a crowded, established market (not VC) I'd stop think, look and listen to people like Doug and others.

However life is about learning from your mistakes and keeping on going. Its also about sometimes not letting ambition and dreams cloud reality.....which really hurts ...but for sure hurts a lot less than binning loads of money and wishing you'd listened

If you have the cash, slow down, go research and buy the best domain for something less broad/generic than VC...but also high paying so you dont have to peddle as hard to make the same money. If you dont have wads of cash...still do the same research as some of the best domains can still be got for a penny or two with a little tenacity and I dont mean some tinynichepaysnothing.org.uk :tup

    Best of luck.

Sorry but if your programmer doesn't know what to do with a feed to import and present it, I'd have thought that he's not that good.

See - I'm still getting those responses I said weren't needed.

@ I should of rephrased that. I'm not a programmer.

Let me explain once more, we're going for something that would automatically update with the latest offers, then latest vouchers (what about Wordpress and a feed agreggator).

So you want to have a system where by, you have a Product Page

You then list the product Info, and a table of merchants, with their prices.

You then, list any available voucher codes, available for that merchant.

You could easily do this with icodes webservice. As is allows you to get codes via a merchant name. You just do a bit of XML formatting, jobs a good un.

From what I've read of your posts, I think that you (or your programmer) need to learn first what a feed is, how they work, how to input them to your own database, how to display the data in a useful way.
Basically learn what you need to do from the ground up. Thats not a criticism, but I hope it is a constructive reply

Hi, there is no programmer yet - I justified that earlier sorry. Yep, why I was pointed here by support at affiliate network for advice on it. Hence my "what happens next". I don't really understand the feed concept and how it works. I'll do some reading. If anyone can help point me in the right direction, discuss this via IM can make it worth their while.

This will all be about execution as there are lot of voucher sites but having the price comparison deals as the main aspect, then vouchers and latest offers / deals for items as others along with our extras.

What we need to know is how the current sites actually use the system like those I mentioned earlier and those as http://www.shoppingvouchers.co.uk. Like i said, pM me your IMS for a chat.
