Thanks, we could pay someone to show us how to use the feed, and display the data very basically on a site.
Can I ask you to take a look at this site for the voucher code functionality, and see if thats the kind of offering you're thinking of Vouchers & Offers, UK Codes for You
That site is obvioulsy a wordpress blog, needs no updating, uses the iCodes webservices and the iCodes wordpress plugin (which includes live product data from Awin, Tradedoubler, POR, Webgains and Affili.net)
For the product side of things, I can recommend not using databases, rather, use the APIs that most networks provide (Awin, TD, affili.net, CJ, Zanox) With those networks, you'll have covered almost every product-based merchant, and, will never have to update anything (or, pay for the wordpress plugins and don't learn to program). There is a forum here for help on API, Datafeed etc. Product Feeds, API's and XML Feeds - Affiliate Marketing
If you have specific productfeed questions, then ask them in there, I'm sure they'll get answered![]()

what is the best price comparison implementation - the vouchers/new deals should be automated but the price comparison does not, but it could be.
please no more on icodes :P
I am going to give up banging my head against the wall now.
I have spent a large amount of money, time, effort, staff time, etc et in this area and my advice for anyone trying to do it now is just don't do it. We are in the war now so we are here to stay but if I had to start again I would pick a diferent sector
But obvioulsy I don't know what I am talking about so Wall...bang bang bang bang
Doug
Yes
If anyone has such a business then PM me as we will use you.
Cheers
Doug
Sometimes people just got to try and learn the hard way.

Its annoying, as this guy obviously dosent understand the power and flexibility of icodes - Its plainly obvious to everyone else that icodes/promotions is the way foward.
Personally I'm an icodes advocate :-) *big up leeky!*
I'd recommend looking up some simple tutorials on XML parsing. The only way to learn, is to get yourselve involved with a bit of code. Start small, then work up
all icodes is , is an XML feed of all deals and vouchers and offers , which is what you want
leeky - i didnt mean THATS ALL ICODES IS , well u know what i meant
I can confirm that we do indeed use Icodes, and we're very very happy with it. It's a fantastic system if used correctly.
But, I will echo what Doug has said, the voucher code market is very very competitive, and unless your very serious and know what your doing and expect it to be very difficult, I would look elsewhere.
Not to start this all off again, but it seems like you think some of the comments you have received here have not been that helpful.
Trust me, they are, i was in the very same boat you are currently in a few months back when i was trying to set up voucherfinder.co.uk and this is the place to listen to what people tell you. Of all the forum's out there this one cuts through the cr*p and tells it how it is. Its not always what you want to hear but sometimes you need to hear it. It is also the best place to find the people that can actually help if you need it, I'm sure you'll have received several PM's.
The VC sector is crazy, I'm glad you see it as a small part of your site, until you get major traffic you'll spend more than you make for a long time to come. I've already moved in and out of the sector and have since created LoveOffers If anyone has any suggestions on it I'd love to hear them, its still very new so go easy but all comments are welcome. You'll notice the lack of VC on it...
PS. Discount Vouchers, Voucher Codes, Promo Codes by Voucher Finder also uses icodes![]()
