Google only indexing home page of site

I have had a wordpress site up for around a week now which has had the front page indexed by google but no other pages, despite there being number of links on the first page to the rest of the pages on my site.

I have checked my robot.txt and it is set to allow robots, I have also checked the privacy settings in wp and its set to "I would like my blog to be visible to everyone etc".

Does anyone have any idea why google isn't showing the rest of my site as indexed?

a week isn't very long - particularly for newish site - I wouldn't worry about it mate.

Hi mate,

I'm very new to this also but I have some advice I can pass on.

It's all about Google being able to find your site and to do that it follows links. To help your site be found:

Get back links to your site
Register your URL with Google if you haven't already (only once though)
Submit a sitemap with Google
Add a sitemap to your site.

As mentioned above a week isnt a very long time at all so I wouldn't worry too much, Google will get around to deep crawling your site.

you can speed things up by getting links to your internal pages (not just your homepage), this will help a lot.
