I thought I'd start a thread, not only to educate myself, but for every other wordpress keeno out there.

I'll start the thread off with the "All in One SEO Plugin," that I'm sure everyone has heard of/used.

    What plugins do you use?

As well as some of the above, I have...

    add-to-any -- Bookmarking
exec-php -- allows you to write php in posts
jadecoder -- if you move a post it adds a redirect so you don't lose visitors
    timber -- shows up errors
    top-10 -- what it says!
    ultimate-plugins-smart-update-pinger -- what it says!
wp-dbmanager -- most important of all - backups your database and sends it to you by email
    wp-gbcf -- contact form
wp-smush it -- (no space but forum *** it!) Reduces your images without losing quality

My approach is if you can code it instead of using a plugin then do. It's all requests, the more plugins the more requests to the database as wordpress is far from efficiant.

Also, the more plugins, the more compatibility issues and updates to deal with.

That said, I tend to always use: meta robots, wp-typography, contact form 7 and more fields (if I need alot of extra custom fields)
