If the thread about Smart Quotes is to be believed then, cashmygold will soon only be on 4 networks.

Please.. CMG have not approved any of our commission. So I would take Smart-Quotes out of the equation. They are now claiming we had no pending commission! So yep they are only listed on 3 professinal networks.

I've been reading the smart-quotes thread.. i'm just glad I decided not to add them to ICodes, I had a funny feeling about them a while back, something just didn't seem right.

They are/were in my opinion the worst financial comparison website in the UK. Their Credit Card Best Buy Table simply listed 4 Credit Cards they get paid on. The table was headed up as "low APR" yet it contained Vanquis which has the highest APR in the UK, along with 3 other cards with APR's of 18%. A low APR Credit Card has a rate of between 7% and 12%.

In addition to that the Mortgage data they displayed was often 6 months out of date. The FSA and/or the Office of Fair Trading should have shut them down years ago.

Yeah thats exactly what Vince said, and said to stop promoted their merchants on that basis.

They didn't convert anyway.. obviously, but they told me the conversion rates where high for everyone else and were baffled as to why they were not seeing any conversions judging by the amount of traffic we were sending.

Hey - we only had 3 networks and now just the one with Affiliate Window.

I am interested though - what commissions do these kind of sites pay and does it work out for affiliates? The TV ads always look awful but I would imagine doing via a cashback site could make it more popular.

Re the gold adverts.

There are no scruples when it comes to getting to the top.

Saturate that market - make people hate you but still whistle to your advert...

I can't believe anyone uses those dreadful gold sites - I haven't even looked at them but it seems totally obvious to me that the following will or may happen:

1. They will pay you hugely less than it is worth
2. You will struggle to get the stuff back if you dont like the offer
3. it will get lost in the post
