Flash Banners & text links

Hello all

I am currently working on The Digital Cameras company campaign and I have had a word with our designer about banners for the Christmas period. He is working on some Flash banners which will load up quicker than normal ads and will look great.
I am trying to find out from you guys what you think of Flash banners and text links, would you use them or do you avoid them at all costs?
I would be very interested to know your thoughts

I would create flash banners and also supply gif alternatives.

Flash is generally ok for most browsers as the plug-in is widely distributed now.

One thought would be to make the flash ads compatible with flash 4/5 to avoid the flash upgrade window for people that don't have the latest player.

I believe that you need to make every possible type of banner or link available to us affiliates. What may work for one website does not always convert well for another. Personally, I have sites that would benefit from Flash, GIF x468, Animated GIFs, 120 buttons and Text links.

The more the better
