After a while off the forum (way before xmas in fact!) i'm back to see what's going on and get site building again.
My long term F1 site is doing me proud. This is the 3rd month in a row i'll be making more than £1000 from affiliate marketing and it's made me hungry for more bunse this year now for sure!!
I know it's simple maths, but it comes as a shock when you start doing well from this how much you really need to set aside from those lovely cheques for the tax man!!! Hopefully i'm on track or i'm gonna get a nasty surprise after April lol
Anyway, as happy I am with my F1 site, im a firm believer in not putting all my eggs in one basket which is why im near finishing a little niche website which is a keyword domain, with a few thousand exact searches (time will tell) - but importantly it's a product area im interested in and can write about with passion so fingers crossed for some rankings!
Anyway, hope everyone's doing well and still plugging away, and i'll give you an update on this 'stab in the dark' website im working on soon!!

Hi James,
I've got at least 30 sites I reckon. Some make a few quid a month some make 10s of quid a month and some make none. None of them standout so it is hard for me to pick one to build on and expand. Most are at number one in Google but I am currently focussing on getting them all to number one in Google incase one of them turns out to be a good site that people are seaching for.
I'm slowly starting to work on a big site which I would recommend any newbie to do after they have learnt the ropes on a smaller site.
I am going to try and pick a few of the existing sites and try and break them out of their niche and move them up one level on the niche to general scale. So sites with domains like 'red leather shoes' that are ranking well for 'red leather shoes' I will try to rank for 'leather shoes' and maybe after that 'shoes'. I think it will be rather tricky but worth a punt. Anyone done something like that before?
so you will have all kinds of shoes on a red leather shoe domain?
From a consumer pov I would say its a bad idea, if i've searched for red leather shoes i dont want to come across a site where the domain is redleathershoes.co.uk full of all kinds of shoes I'm not interested in, it would just annoy me more than anything else so would go elsewhere. Just buy a more generic domain?
Completely disagree, you missed the point here...going with the shoes example, thats your niche.. and you have dominated it i.e you are number 1 and your not going to do nay better, then what do you do? you can do one of two things
1) abondon the niche, i.e let it go on autopilot etc...
2) diversify it....
2) will alwys be a better option...(atleast 9/10.. so guess not always)
so you decide you like black shoes...and you start to target black shoes as a subpage fro example... the place where most people go wrong is NAVIGATION...if you ahve poor naviagtion then yes your customer for red will get confused and annoyed. If you have clearly defined navigation then customer will go for it..
IF you top for both RED and BLACK shoes, then you have doubled your revenvue stream

Just checked out your site, very professional keep up the good work.
Thats what I thought Mansoor.
If the person searches for red shoes they will land on the red shoes page and if someone searches for black shoes they would land on the black shoes page wouldnt they?
