Are any uk affiliates targeting the US market? I have a few mini sites with .co.uk/org.uk extensions and was contemplating having a similar site set up for the us using american merchants, would this be feasible?

How are .us domains considered by google? the same way as .co.uks are? or somewhat like the dreaded .info?

.us are exactly the same as .co.uk but for USA

One thing though you're supposed to be before you can buy a .us either 1.a US citizen 2.US resident 3.US taxpayer

Don't tell anyone I am neither and have had a few .us's for a while and they do quite well.

One thing also they are $14.99 to renew for 1 year.

Just get a normal .com domain. I still find these to rank best when it comes to SEO and arent as expensive as .us (PS: Before registering a new domain, ALWAYS do a quick google search for promo codes. Hey, free money you're leaving on the table!).

I use the same site for UK and USA just with little flags at the top - I also use a Geo-IP script to see where the user is coming from and alert them to offers that fit their country. This way I only need to work on one site rather than a few on the same topic.

I have started some US sites, but they have been rather neglected since I focus on the UK ones. It's very embarassing seeing the state of them, so I have made this post to remind me about them, and hopefully I'll get the situation improved. The US market is a bit harder than the UK one in my opinion, because it's such a big country it's harder to pick up on marketing trends and it's harder to know which retailers are best.

    Well said, cant agree more!

What I do is use the USA branch of the UK company, for example instead of amazon UK use Amazon USA.
