Let me know if you want me to change the link text or description of
your site.

I might if I didn't suspect its more of this really crap link request stuff.
I'm going to start drafting a standard reply for link requests which don't look quite right.
More iffy link requests. Second in this format recently -
"I just searched in Google for XXXXX and found www.mydomainname.co.uk ranked 67. I have a related website about XXXXs that's purely informational (so I'm NOT a competitor of yours) and I'd like to link to your site.
I consider my site to be one of the best resources for this type of information. I get a decent amount of visitors to it so if I link to you, your site should get some decent traffic from it.
I only link to good quality sites... I think you'll find my site to be high quality as well. In exchange, I would ask that you also link to my site. I've already linked to you and will keep it there for a few days until I hear from you. Please let me know asap if you're interested and i'll send you my information.
Thanks!
For the other one I did request more info - and got shown the plan - I link to their site that earns them money and they link to me on an index type site which will do me little good in way of link back (imo)
Then when I hadn't got back to them quick enough I got an email saying something about how I'd contacted them first and they'd remove the link if I didn't get in touch quick enough.
I suspect it'll be the sort of link farm nasty stuff that will do sites no good and that will be another thing which google will have to overcome - I'm sure if you only get one contact from them it doesn't look too odd, but why would you swap links indirectly? Surely the value of link swapping is to go like for like?
As I can see they'd get traffic from my site and I'd get a listing on some spammy directory. Not good and not what I want)
