are they tracking phone orders as well?
This gave me a laugh today. This is in the Kiddies Kingdom feed:
http://www.kiddies-kingdom.com/ProductsDetails.aspx?item_id=3968&source=aw&Source =aw
"PRICE IS NOT £1! PHONE ORDERS ONLY! Call 01924 439049 For Best Price!"
are they tracking phone orders as well?
Is that possible? Each affiliate would need a unique phone number wouldn't they?
If I called the number on the website, wouldn't I simply order the product without my link being credited?
I might have missed something of course!
Cheers
That looks very naughty. I would report them to Affiliate Window.
Tobman thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Hi,
I think it would be appropriate if we step in here.
First of all we would like to apologise for all the initial confusion, and troubles caused.
Please Note: Within the Nursery Industry, some Manufacturers have introduced a policy on either their full ranges or specific Models, where they are stating, Internet Retailers cannot display the price of the Product. They can advertise the product all day long, with imagery, descriptions etc, and put a note on there to 'Call for a Price', But a buyable price cannot be displayed.
Why? What are Manufacturers trying to achieve by doing this?
As you must be aware, Internet competition is very intense. Lets take an example of Baby Jogger launching a new Pushchair with an RRP of 199.99
Retailer No1 will come along and sell it @ 185
Retailer No2 will come along and sell it @ 165
Retailer No3 will come along and sell it @ 150, and so on.....
Eventually this product will be available openly on the market at 150.00.
Now the customer is percieving this product to have a value of 150.00 (This is all its worth).
This ultimately has devalued the manufacturers product and brand, and this is what is disputed . In an attempt to eliminate the price problem they have introduced such a policy.
This is solely because the Manufacturer by law cannot tell its retailer to sell at a specific price.
Retailers have obided to this policy for the past 18 months+
A fewa are As follows
(Please ensure if affiliates are advertsing any of the below-these products are not in the feed)
http://www.groovystyle.co.uk/productpages/baby-jogger/city-mini-single.php
http://www.bambinodirect.co.uk/details1.asp/ProductID/831/sid//baby-jogger-city-mini-single.html

Kiddies Kingdom, currently has a system which only allows products to be advertised with the add to cart symbol, and not only this, a price also has to be displayed.
Our tech guys are working on changing this, thus we have clearly specificed on on our website:
"PRICE IS NOT £1! PHONE ORDERS ONLY! Call 01924 439049 For Best Price!"
Whats the Problem?
Its Obvious, by advertising products in such a way, affiliates are being deprived of potential commissions, and thus the discussions in this thread.
How do we resolve this:
1) Remove Products off the feed.
2) Advertise Product with a realistic Price.
After consulting Baby Jogger, and advising them that we are currently unable to remove specific product from the feed, we are going to continue adertising their products, all at full RRP.
http://www.kiddies-kingdom.com/product.aspx?cID=46&m=83&pID=23
This will mean, customers can purchase products for the advertised price, and ofcourse if a sale is generated through an affiliate, the appropriate commission will be allocated accordingly.
Hope this info helps.

Sounds like complete tripe to me. What makes the nursery industry any more competitive than any other? Several other companies, certain perfumes/designer brands and even a furniture manufacture we deal with do not allow you the items at less than x% less than the RRP, if you do and get caught they stop supplying you - simple.
There are several others selling that same product online, including John Lewis and Mothercare, both at RRP, so I doubt that the policy is that you cant sell them online at all.
