Just to throw a bit of commercial sense into this one...the niche is going to be a pretty tough sell at the moment, guys. Gold prices are up, gold itself is NOT in fashion and more gold retailers/pawnbrokers are actually selling their own stock for meltdown because of the high prices. As an affiliate, I'd say you're job to convert would be double the difficulty of actual merchants and all in, this is a very tough one to pull off!

Anyone seeing anything from them yet out of interest?

Just to combat that there will be a secret weapon from me unleashed as soon as i can spare some time

Thanks, I think Im first . JC had an adsense click of around 13p but im not counting that, plus hes like $600 down to start with. Most of the products on my site are over £100, average is around £150 I think, so this should be a pretty typical commission amount. I started out creating sites making a couple of quid tops in commission, recently though I have been concentrating on sites making at least £5 per sale and in the last month I have had around 8 sales of over £20, and one three figure commission - although I think that may be a one off as the site hasn't made any other sales since launch.

Hopefully that will give a bit a motivation to some people to get their sites up and running, there seems to still be a lot of holding pages up.

I did notice that, last time I checked around 50% of them were not up. I think a lot of the newer members had seen the other competition with people making a few decent sales of mid-high £xx in commission and automatically thought that by being part of the competition that they would get the same results.

Its definately persuaded me that I need to be targetting higher priced goods. One of my other sites that has been live for a couple of months and making a sale or two a week has only made a couple of quid more than this site as the commission is around £2 a sale.

I've spent around $5 on links (only a portion of the links I have outsourced have been for this site), and £7.03 on the domain (minus quidco cashback of course ) - so Im around £10 in profit after everything.

Also, I think you missed a 0 off the end of your earnings

Luckily my site seems to be climbing in Google and its close to page one so hope to be earning something next week

Im sitting at the top of page 2 at the minute (11th / 12th), but hopefully will push onto the front page over the weekend. Im getting a handful of visitors per day (averaging around 5 or 6 at the minute), but the good news is im sending around 50% of them to the merchants! So even if you take the merchants conversion rate of around 1 or 2% I should make two or three sales per month even at 5 or 6 uniques per day, and with an average commission of around £15-20, thats still £360 - £720 per year...

Would be interested to see what percentage of uniques others are sending to the merchants, especially those using more obvious/basic wordpress themes.
