I mean "must set up" is actually about 80 but I doubt very much I will get round to it.

I have done AffiliateNewbies for him:

    1. must setup: 3,563
    2. designing site: 0
    3. already setup: 0

Only kidding mate but you have any more questions please fire away hehe

    Must set up 52
    Building 2
    Running 5

Must admit that sometimes don't realise how many I've registered in a month until the wad of Nominet envelopes drops through the letterbox

    Running: 3.5
    Must set up: 5 ish.
Why on earth did I buy that: 15
Surely someone will buy these off me: 30

Surely what we need is to run an Adult or College Education course on affiliate sites and then offer a revenue sharing agreement to students if they research the products and set the site up for us ?
(Isn't that how the corporates work ?)

How far are you going to go ? Do you mean....website files that dynamically extract code from the database, that dynamically controls the code in some more files that dynamically control the data that is pulled from the database......or even more steps ?
eg. enough steps to set up an entire office supplies site with a few clicks of the mouse ?!!

Like the idea of that - there's not many design templates that will accommodate it.

So far I just have content pages, I will be creating a "list" module this week.

All content is in the database, and each content is associated with a particular Site.

My system looks at the domain, and loads the content associated with that site.

My content will have friendly URL's also e.g.:

    http://www.garden.com/myfolder/anoth...e.content.aspx

    instead of www.mydomain.com/article.aspx?id=2&sd=322 etc.

That is just how I retrieve the content, the content is displayed using a template. I can change the templates ONLINE also, using a browser.

I can create as many templates as I want.

exapmle templates: header, footer, contentview etc.

Content has many types also, like articles, FAQ's/TIPS content.

    TODO:

    1. listing module - this is where I can load products and display them, and my affiliate URL's will be appended appropriately.

    2. url tracker - this will hide affiliate links, track clicks and also track the visitors I.P, timestamp, browser, etc etc.

    3. contact page - this will allow me to receieve emails from all my domains and direct them to any mailbox I want

    LONG TERM modules:

    4. Polls module - create interactive polls
    5. forums

I am planning on selling this system once I have a few months of personal use.

Comments? DOes this sound like a limiting system too you guys?

You might know all this already....
I'm probably newer to being an affiliate than you, but just from experience of running websites, I'd recommend using a database where you can add fields and indexes as you go along - I don't think that they all allow this. Its handy even with one site, as long as you're ultra careful when changing any fields.

That would mean that by indexing and/or adding keyword fields in various ways you could have the flexibility of being able to pull products associated with one site onto another site (eg. that is doing better), just by changing the database queries, which ultimately could contain variables that are input from your admin. area.

Also, given the developments in product data feeds, it will probably be handy for the future to have a database where the field names and sizes can be changed or aliased. I'm no expert in databases, I just know I've had a lucky escape cos didn't know this when I started using databases.

So you're not really a newb now are you AffiliateNewbie!

We all may be having a giggle at your expense at the enormous numbers of questions you have asked, but I am sure you will have the last laugh. Someone that is that thorough in their research and investigation into any area will usually be laying the foundations for success, no doubt it won't be long before you are sharing your newly learned tricks with the rest of the forum. And I will (as a genuine newb with a lot to learn) be all ears
