You helped us to achieve this.....
This statement was released to the Stock Market this morning. As you can see, all good news - well done all.
ASOS PLC
("ASOS" or "the Company")
CHRISTMAS TRADING STATEMENT
ASOS, the Internet based fashion retailer announces a 75% increase in like-for-like sales for the Christmas trading period and a move into profitability.
Commenting on Christmas trading (1st November - 31st December 2003) Nick Robertson Chief Executive said:
We had a strong Christmas all round, the highlights being:
53% increase in unique visitors (shoppers through the door)
75% increase in like-for-like sales
Gross Margin maintained at 48.5%
265,000 registered users at 31st December (Up from 205,000 at 30th June)
13% reduction in the level of returns
We continued to out-perform our high-street competitors on the Internet, moving to 3rd place in the Clothing and Apparel category for December (Source Hitwise).
This was testament to our product range, the attention to customer care and our on-line marketing initiatives.
Importantly, the logistical problems of 2002 are now firmly behind us and the warehouse achieved all delivery and customer care targets throughout the critical trading period.
I remain optimistic about the Company’s growth prospects. The business continues to be cash generative and had over £1.1m cash in the bank at the end of December 2003. The operational efficiencies are also significant and this should be reflected in the levels of profit the business can achieve going forward.
An un-audited interim announcement of results for the 12 months to 31st December 2003 will be made on 20th February 2004. Audited results for the 15 months to 31st March 2004 are expected to be released on 30th June 2004. The results for the 12 months ended 31st March 2004 are expected to be in line with market expectations.

Insider knowledge Jess... and your point is?![]()
Geees, the only way the big players make any money from the market is insider trading! I would love a piece of that pie but instead I listen to my brother and lose a few K on shi#ty tech shares like Marconi !!!!!![]()
I want that one...
I bought just short of 30K shares just before Xmas - so a nice tidy profit on those at the mo![]()
Hope the price keeps rising!!
Also got a few last October as I could see the potential and there didn't seem to be any mugs running it !
Worth a hold for another 12 or 18 months depending on what transpires.
Young company which should have plenty of ideas to implement (when cash available) and a good growth curve ahead of it.
Well done guys.
Now who's next ...... DGM worth a look methinks, recent develpoments with Webgravity, Webwurld (Pay for Inclusion) - Yahoo buying Inktomi - Yahoo dropping Google etc, etc - Nicky Iapino added to board of directors.
Stil trying to work out which way they wil do things but all looks an interesting package depending on intentions.
Don't hold yet but certainly doing a bit of homework on it !
Cheers
Aly
My luck with Tech stocks is not good at all.
Bought 250,000 QXL @ 6.75p Got out @ 4.5p
Bought 100,000 TCT @ 5.25p - de-listed and got bought out by the chairman who resigned just before they were delisted (!) lost all.
Bought 100,000 MIN and lost the lot again!!!!
Sticking to banks and utlities at the moment
I'm gonna wait before buying any Google, this will be a really popular stock to buy but i can see it being over valued at first with a correction in price within 6 months....hanging on till then...but with my record in techs........![]()
misscarolann, please list all future stock purchases you are thinking of here so we can all keep clear
Seems you've had some bad luck with it all though, just wait till you get the golden nugget, 100k at 2p and sell at £1
Cheers

Eurotunnel were a very good share, they crashed quite a few times and from about 50p a share once they started clearing off their debts then they jumped to over £1.00 a share.
Tried dabbling in penny shares once with www.etrade.co.uk but was getting monthly charges for some god knows why reason and I literally only had about £10.00 worth of shares and costing me near enough that each month in fees.
Got a nice mouse mat out of it though, probaly charging me rental for the mouse mat
Leeds United shares would be a risky gamble which might pay off, if they get some rich billionaire like Chelsea did, buy them out prices would soar on them.
Eurotunnel still look a good investment when the price crashes but they have gone back to being a poor share again at 40p buy those the next time they drop and sit on the shares as chances are would imagine they would jump back up to a £1 or more a share after a while, may take a few months, maybe even years but worth sitting on.
